  • Destiny 2 – Proving Comebacks are Possible

In the last few months we have heard all manner of game news. Fortnite was said to be falling off, if by losing a few million players out of their hundred million plus population, well, okay. Call of Duty launched their battle royale and is doing well. Diablo is on the Switch, and there is this little western game out there sweeping up all the headlines. Red Dead Redemption 2 is amazing. However, in all this news, Destiny 2 continues to prove its value with a hugely successful expansion called Forsaken.

  • Nobody Wants Destiny 3

Even though we are all having a great time in Destiny 2: Forsaken and talk about it daily, none of us trust Bungie to keep moving forward without ripping the game out from under us and to make Destiny 3.

  • Noob Adventures in Destiny 2: Forsaken Part 3

I finally hit level cap! While I was thinking I’d hit cap and be able to gear up quickly to raid judging from my power level gains during leveling, I got a quick reality check after hitting power level 500 and finding out that gains from there are on are slow and require a bit of work. I’m still working on finishing up the story and grinding gear on the side through dailies and weeklies, as well as doing a good amount of PvP.

  • Noob Adventures in Destiny 2: Forsaken Part 2

I spent a good amount of time playing more Destiny 2, playing through the story thinking I would get bored at some point and probably just jump straight into the Forsaken content. I was wrong.

  • Our Destiny 2: Forsaken Review

It is a delicately thin line that the Destiny franchise rides. At its heart, Destiny is a first person shooter, yet it has flirted with MMO elements for years. So much so that its community has been torn over what to call it. With the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, Bungie begins to define the relationship. This is our review of Destiny 2: Forsaken.

  • Warmind Review - Mind Unblown

If there was ever a list of games that failed to meet expectations, Destiny 2 would be somewhere near the top. After dining out on the Halo series for much of the last decade, Bungie’s current magnum opus seems to redefine the meaning of disappointment. Its latest example, Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion, is a perfect example of how little twenty bucks gets you from an alleged top-tier studio.

  • The Year Ahead Needs More Meat

Destiny 2 just put out its early gameplan for 2018, mostly about changes to the game’s cash shop (the Eververse), XP gains, and other quality of life fixes. It’s a good start, but there’s one clear thing it’s missing - juicy, meaty, content. Even as a casual Destiny 2 player, I can tell there’s not enough hints of actual content to come in 2018 to satisfy the player-base, and I’m beginning to fear that Bungie can’t catch up to the rabid demand for content.

  • The 10 Best MMOs of 2017

We recently awarded our MMO of the year to Final Fantasy XIV, and for good reason. It’s been another banner year for Final Fantasy fans and their MMORPG, but it’s not the only MMO that had a solid 2017. Sure enough, there weren’t many great new games to play in 2017. But we’re taking a look at the games we played, in beta and fully launched, and picking our favorites.

  • Thoughts on the #RemoveEververse Initiative

I’ve been playing Destiny 2 since launch, but only casually as I’ve also been reviewing a heap of games across GameSpace and MMORPG. So, when I heard that there was a Winter Event called the Dawning coming to D2, I was ecstatic. It wasn’t until after Christmas, this morning in fact, that I woke to find out that such an event was making Destiny 2’s playerbase irate once more.

Remember the other week when I said we’d have more details on Destiny 2’s upcoming first expansion, The Curse of Osiris heading your way soon? • Curse of Osiris Hands-On Preview

It feels like just yesterday I was logging into the Destiny 2 servers for the first time and grinding my way to a power level of 305. Now that we’ve thrashed Ghaul and the Red Legion and (SPOILER ALERT!) the Traveller has reawakened there’s going to be even more problems focusing their site on our little corner of the universe. The latest threat heading our way will have guardians flying off to Mercury in Destiny 2’s first expansion, The Curse of Osiris.

  • Playing Countdown PVP on PC

If I ever tell you I’m good at competitive shooters, you can call me a liar. That didn’t stop me from enjoying the hell out of the new Countdown PVP mode on PC today at the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal. Sadly, video capture was only available on PS4, so we’ll be sure to post some videos of ours or others when they go live. But the new mode, Countdown, is the capture and defend option Destiny fans have been waiting for.

  • Playing on PC - Tackling the New Inverted Spire Strike

I feel absolutely privileged to be at the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal in LA today. Then I realized that literally everyone in the gaming press and influencer world is here, and realized “Holy sh*t… we’re finally getting Destiny on the PC.” I’ve spent my morning with both the PC version’s demo Strike, and the PVP, with my Campaign session coming later today. The Inverted Spire is the first new group content we’re getting hands on with, and I must say, Destiny 2 feels right at home on PC.

Although you may not know it if you just played Destiny 1 and never took a look at any of those Grimoire entries you kept unlocking, there is a lot of lore to the game world beyond just what lies in the title. With Destiny 2 we’re getting a lot of that lore plugged directly into the game to bring us a fresher, more engaging plot than the last time around.

  • MMORPG.com's Best of 2017 Awards

It hasn’t been a great year for NEW games in the MMO genre. But it sure was a pretty great year for veteran MMOs. • Our Curse of Osiris Review

People have been wanting some new content for Destiny 2, and they got it yesterday with the launch of Curse of Osiris - the first DLC for Bungie’s MMO shooter. Bringing with is hours of new story, tons of new weapons and gear to hunt down, new PVP, and new PVE options, players should be satiated... for at least a week. That’s the way of the gamer, my friends. This is our Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris review in progress.

  • What I Want Next

Let’s face it, Destiny 2 is a really good game - that’s also facing some really warranted criticism as of late. The current XP reduction fiasco, the lack of endgame content because they chose to reboot the series rather than add to it, and so on are detracting from the very real fact that Destiny 2 is a damned fine game that plays great on PC. But what can make it better?

  • Was a Sequel a Mistake?

Destiny 2 is a great game. But it’s also short on content for those coming either from the first game or new to the series. Sure, it’s technically a “new game”, but people playing MMOs, even ones that avoid the term, expect loads of content to keep them busy. Fair enough, Destiny 2 can claim it’s a whole new game. But the danger of taking an MMO and giving it a direct sequel is that you’re sacrificing all that older content to the garbage bin.

  • Destiny 2 PC Review In Progress

Destiny 2 is finally out on the PC, and we spent a good chunk of yesterday toying around with the new shiny shooter from Bungie. There are two main gripes we have about the PC version so far, but neither are absolutely debilitating. Read on for our Destiny 2 PC review in progress.

  • Review-in-Progress - Part 2

Looking back on this second week in Destiny 2, I’ml struck with two concerns: the story is starting to feel formulaic and the content repetitive. Is the sheen starting to wear off the shiny newness?

  • The MMOism of Public Events

One of the best features in Destiny 2 is the Public Event system. This idea has it roots as far back into MMOs as Warhammer Online in 2007 and 2008 when the game launched. Destiny 2 has taken the model and adapted it for players to boost their experience and leveling while exploring the narrative zones. It also brings in players from around the zone to join into an epic battle. One more thing, there are heroic versions as well.

  • What To Do at Level 20 in Destiny 2

You’ve completed the Campaign mode, all that’s left to do is sit back and bask in the light of the Traveler, right? Oh, no buck-o. Strap yourself in because Destiny 2’s end-game is filled with some very rewarding gameplay even after the dust settles. In this article, we’re going to answer the question burning in everyone’s mind: What do I do at the end of Destiny 2?

  • How Do I Get a Sparrow in Destiny 2?

Players might have realized early on in the Destiny 2 beta, and now that it’s launched on PS4 and XBOX – the Sparrow, that handy little Star Wars-esque air bike? It’s nowhere to be found. Enemies often ride them, but where is my Sparrow in Destiny 2? How do you get a Sparrow in Destiny 2? Why is my Guardian so fat and slow? We answer these questions and more beyond the break.

  • Destiny 2 Feels Far More Alive Than Its Predecessor

I’ve Played Destiny 2’s live version for about an hour so far, maybe more. And I can already tell you all it’s far better than the original was. Is it “Just More Destiny”? Yes, but it’s also got more heart, more story, a better explorable “world” and tons of quality of live improvements. It’s making the wait for the PC (and in my opinion better) version feel that much longer.

  • The Battle Between Anthem and Destiny 2

E3 has come and gone and in the wake of the incredible hype machine that is back to back publisher conferences, the biggest game reveals are clear: EA Bioware’s Anthem and Activision Blizzard’s, Destiny 2. Everything we know so far says that these two games are taking aim at the exact same group of gamers. It’s poised to be a battle between two massive publishers and renowned development studios for the time and money of you the gamer. Let’s talk about how that might shake out.

  • Exploring the Destiny of Bioware’s Anthem

Teased about two years back, EA has finally shown its new game universe off to the public and press. Anthem is an action RPG where you control a suit of super armor and explore a vast science fictional landscape fighting foes as well as defending your settlement from the Wilds. Hang on a second, powered armor, lone protectors, defending your fortress from alien and hostile foes in an overgrown wasteland that sounds a lot like Destiny.

  • On the Subject of Dedicated PC Servers

This week’s update from Bungie, following the flurry of information on Destiny 2 we received last week, focuses not only on the gameplay reveal but perhaps more importantly on the idea of dedicated servers. As a matter of utmost import to prospective PC Destiny players, Bungie set out to assuage worries that the Peer to Peer networking used by Destiny 2 will somehow invite hacking and an inferior gameplay experience.

  • The Definitive Version will be on PC

Destiny 2 wowed me last week at the official gameplay reveal in Los Angeles. I mean, yes, it’s basically just Destiny 1.5, but on PC – but I wasn’t expecting it to feel or look quite so good compared to its console cousin. We all know “PC Master Race”, but there at Hawthorne Airport, it became so apparent that the PC has the leg up with this game. And those players willing to give up the XBone or PS4 will likely be very happy they did.

  • The One Thing I Want Most in Destiny 2

This won’t be a long tirade, I promise. Destiny, for all its faults at launch, became a much better game as patches released, DLC came out, and by the time The Taken King was released, Destiny 2.0 was exactly what most people hoped Desinty 1.0 would have been. But for me, there was something still missing… a cohesive social UI. I’m hoping that if there’s any big change in presentation with Destiny 2: Electric Boogaloo, it’s in its social management functions.

  • Like It or Not, Destiny 2 is Good for the MMO Genre

Destiny 2 is coming to PC. Praise be to RNGeezus, it’s true. While the “Persistent Online Shooter” does everything it can to avoid the term MMO, truth is they’ve invited us (a site mainly focused on MMOs) out to their studio on several occasions. Acronym or not, even Bungie realizes the game’s draw for fans of the genre. With the sequel now officially launching on the PC September 8th, Destiny 2 has become the bright spot on the MMO gamer’s horizon.
