During an interview with Creative Lead Trick Dempsey, it was revealed to MMORPG that Arkbreaker is set to launch on December 10th, 2013 (barring any issues that may pop up of course). The new expansion will feature tons of new features, which will be highlighted later today in an official blog at the Defiance site, and on MMORPG tomorrow morning in an exclusive interview. Stay tuned for more details.

According to a report at Fusible.com, Trion CEO Scott Hartsman has been a busy guy snapping up several domains with the title "Trove" in them. It remains unclear whether or not this is a new IP or something that will be used as expansion material for either Defiance or Rift.

Defiance players looking for a little holiday cheer need look no further than December's release of the Arkbreaker DLC. According to an announcement on the official site, the game's second downloadable content pack will arrive in XBox 360, PS3 and PC flavors simultaneously.

In last month's state of the game letter, the Defiance team let players know that its priority was to make weapons in the MMOFPS "more fun". With today's patch release, that promise is beginning to be fulfilled.

Defiance has been updated with four "hell-raising" new arkfalls for players to check out. Each minor event lasts twenty minutes, major events for an hour. Players will face off against Enforcers, Snipers, Monitors, and Bulwarks and end up taking on a Monolith.

Trion Worlds is letting players know that the Defiance contracts system has been reworked to make the instructions for completion of the contracts simpler to understand and follow.

The latest Defiance State of the Game letter has been published on the official site. In it, the discussion centers around things the team is ardently working on, including changes to weapons, shields, the inventory system, the social system, objectives and UI. There is even a sneak peek at what lies ahead.

Trion Worlds has announced that the first major content update for Defiance will arrive on August 20th. Called "Castithan Charge Pack", the new content will deliver a new arkfall, new dueling options, game improvements and more.

According to the latest Raptr "Most Played Games" list for July 2013, Defiance saw one of the most precipitous gains in play time for the month. A great Steam Summer Sale and a price drop for Defiance seem to have led to a huge player increase in July.

The second season of the Syfy television series, Defiance, has started in Toronto, Ontario. The series and the Trion Worlds' game of the same name, are tied together in a transmedia mix that sees players in the television show and vice versa. Season 2 of Defiance will kick off in June of 2014.

Trion has reduced the price of Defiance to a mere $9.99 on the game's official site. As yet, online retailers such as Amazon have yet to reflect the price change so, if you have yet to try out Defiance, head to the official site to grab yours at a bargain price.

Mathew Everett, Defiance Community Manager, has confirmed via Twitter that the first DLC for the game will be released in August.

Players who have yet to experience Defiance can now check the game out for free thanks to a new 72-hour free trial. During the time-limited promotion, game play is unlimited.

Defiance players have a great incentive to complete Major Arkfall events. The player who reaches the pinnacle of success will see their character immortalized in the Defiance television series.

During a recent Defiance event, players were challenged to become the Ultimate Ark Hunter. The winner, Zachary Prast, collected three times as much as anyone else and will appear in a forthcoming episode of the Syfy series of the same name.
