In an announcement on both the official DC Universe Online forums and the DCUO Facebook fan page, devs have revealed the contents of a new patch applied to the PC beta version of the game. It's a comprehensive and quite large list of changes, enhancements and bug fixes.
We have an exciting update being added to our Beta today! We’ve read your feedback, and the development team has been diligently working on numerous improvements to address outstanding issues. While there are tons of changes going in, here are a few we wanted to point out:
- UI adjustments which should address not only readability but add a much higher level of polish and visibility. We will continue to work on the UI and make further improvements.
- A Revamped Social Menu with larger fonts should greatly improve communication.
- The Directional Pad on your Gamepad now gives players quick access to the following menus. PC users may use F1 - F4
- Up/F1: Actions Menu - Allows players to see Combo and Ability descriptions, toggle PVP Flag and change role.
- Down/F2: Canned Chat Menu - Allows players to choose from commonly used phrases.
- Right/F3: Buffs Menu - Allows players to see details about buffs that are currently applied.
- Left/F4: Allows players to use Character animation to communicate.
- Nature, Dual Pistol, Gadgets, and Mental have had their skill and ability trees updated which will require players to distribute their points once they have downloaded the update. As we continue to evolve and respond to events and play styles in the live game this will be required to time to time, but may be unfamiliar to players new to MMO’s.
