Starting October 3rd, You'll Be Able to Mix & Match Repeater Parts in Dauntless -

The Dauntless site has been updated with a blog post to let players know that the Repeater type of weapon is coming to the game on October 3rd. Players will be able to mix and match grip, chamber, barrel and prism parts to customize their Repeater. To get the first set of Repeaters, players will need to "reach the Monstrous Verge and defeat a Shrike".

Interestingly, while Repeaters are, as projectile-type weapons, handy at a distance, there are bonuses for getting up close and personal. "The closer you are, the more damage you'll do. You'll need to play with proximity to find the sweet spots, but for guaranteed damage? Get in close. You can't stand in the safe zone and be a hero."  In addition, the closer you are to a Behemoth, the more aether you'll be able to "siphon off" to empower your projectiles.

The Repeater parts are:

  • barrel that "determines the element of your attacks"
  • chamber that "changes your skillshot ability"
  • grip that "sets your thrown ability"
  • prism that "controls your passive bonus"
