September 2nd Patch Notes - MMORPG.com

The patch notes for today's build of Darkfall are now available. Today's patch is significant as it will lay the groundwork for Darkfall's upcoming October Expansion update. The patch includes a number of changes, the highlights of which you can find below:

  • Ship improvements: A number of naval warfare improvements are included in today's patch, such as a reduction in speed for damaged ships so they are unable to flee as easily, an overall reduction of ship HP, relaxed requirements on the production of ships, and more.
  • Crafting: The pace at which players will skill up in crafting has been increased when producing higher tier weapons.
  • Visual Updates: A number of visual improvements have been made to the game world.
  • Weapons: New elemental bows and one handed clubs have been added to the game.
  • Magic: A balance pass has been made on magic abilities and schools. Some things have been improved such as an increase in skill up rates for the different schools, and a reduction in ingredient costs for various spells. While other aspects have been toned down, such as more strict requirements on AoE spells and backstabbing.
  • UI Improvements: A bevy of UI improvements have been implemented with today's patch, one such example is the inclusion of first person animations for bows, staves and grenades while running and walking.
  • Village System: Village control points will output an increased rate of gold, but will be balanced by a reduction in health. Also, players will be alerted 30 minutes before a village becomes vulnerable.
  • Monsters: Attacking creatures as opposed to players will net you triple the skill ups.
