Darkfall Articles
The next major update to Darkfall was intended to launch a bit sooner, according to a post by Tasos on the official Darkfall forums, but some finishing touches had to be put on the thing and well, it's better late than never, right?! The "Conquer the Seas" update is now set to launch next week, though Tasos warns there is still a possibility they could miss the date, but even if they do, it would only result in a short delay of a few days.
Some exciting developments for Darkfall players out there today! Tasos has made an announcement on the official Darkfall forums detailing a new "Community Publishing Progam" that will allow for Darkfall subscribers to receive a publisher sized cut of Darkfall sales for every customer they refer. The program is basically a refer-a-friend program on steroids, with Aventurine providing a number of promoting assets such as banners to help facilitate promotion.
Character transfers for players seeking to move from the EU1 server to the NA1 server are now being offered, free of charge, until December 6th, 2009. Your character will not retain his loot or other belongings during the transfer, but he will still keep his skills, spells, quests, alignment and titles. In addition, Aventurine is offering a 30% discount for six month subscription packages during this free character transfer period, with both EU1 and NA1 subscriptions eligible for the offer.
Much has been made about Darkfall's supposed harsh community and steep learning curve, but a recent entry at the Hardcore Casual blog brings attention to the Newborn of Agon, or NEW, a clan which helps cultivate new Darkfall players by training them for 30 days in whatever they may be interested in. The clan is neutral in affiliation, though it has found support from many of the game's alliance's and guilds on the official Darkfall forums.
The patch notes for today's build of Darkfall are now available. Today's patch is significant as it will lay the groundwork for Darkfall's upcoming October Expansion update.
