New Contest and Beta News -

As one contest comes to a close over at Dark Solstice, another one comes to the surface. True to their goal of involving players in the design on hteir gaming world, the developers have recently closed a contest to choose a reward for the first 5,000 Beta players. As the staff sets about choosing a winner from the "Choose the Reward Contest", they have announced the "Name the Village" contest where the community gets a change to... name the village.

The new contest, “Name the Village”, will be a unique opportunity for players to name the first 5 villages in the game. They will be located in the areas scheduled to be a part of the Beta tests and they include:

  • The Enchanted Forest
  • The Dunes of Ularis
  • The Jungles of Sarius
  • The Forbidden Forest
  • The Underworld of Eros

Participants can try their hand at naming all 5 villages but only 1 winning entry per player will be allowed. Please be sure to register on our message boards so you can take part. We look forward to all of you participating and submitting some interesting and unique names. Good Luck.

The developers also sent out a note of reassurance regarding their Beta test.

As you might guess, we are busy trying to get ready for the upcoming Phase 1 Beta Testing. Things are moving along nicely and we are still aiming for a Beta date prior to 12/31/05. The artwork is certainly a major component of the game and I can report that it looks fantastic and is on target for completion as planned. We will certainly keep you informed of our progress as we get closer to the anticipated date.
