Q: Why are the Milegate doors in Cathal Valley not repairable?

A: Cathal Valley was designed as homage to old style RvR, specifically old Emain Macha. That's why we went with the old style portal keeps, the old style center keep, and old style Milegates.

As well, Cathal Valley isn't a siege type battleground, so having to beat down by hand or repair the Milegate main doors would be counter to the flow of the zone. The Milegates do have postern doors that do require the attackers to break them down before they will open. These are located on either end of the room above the gate and provide defenders a 'safe' refuge. The idea of the Milegates in Cathal Valley was to recreate some of the fun that the Milegates in old Emain Macha provided.
