Grab Bag

Grab Bag -

Well, it's Friday again, and some things are almost a given on a Friday. Workers sit watching the clock and wondering if they can duck out early for the weekend, students will have a very rowdy afternoon in school, and Mythic's Dark Age of Camelot will produce another Grab Bag for our viewing pleasure. As usual, this is just a sample, follow the link below for the whole thing.

Mostly cheating, one Warlock question:

Q: 450 is a lot of accounts. Would you consider lifting the bans in a few months to get the money back? I think we've all learned our lesson.

A: You have got to be kidding. If you look at the Herald and years of history, you'll note multiple instances of mass bannings, and even more small batch bannings.

Anyone who hadn't ALREADY "learned a lesson" was an unrepentant cheater, and the kind of person who wouldn't stop without personally suffering the consequences. Like a toddler whose mommy never told him "no."

No offense to toddlers; they usually grow out of the screeching and whining stage, unlike your typical cheat user. Also, they can be unrelentingly adorable, such as those produced by most of our former quest writers.

There are only a few players permabanned for being repeat offenders. Mostly we banned accounts. Players are generally welcome to come back and level up again without using cheat programs. I certainly believe people are capable of learning a lesson - it's just that those lessons might stick better if the price was hundreds of hours wasted.

As a side note, totally not related, I'm embarrassed to even mention it, but if I had a nickel for everyone who said they'd reup if we banned a great big heap… sorry, so sorry, I'm such a hack. I never said I was a subtle person.
