It may seem like a small thing in light the excitement surrounding CD Projekt Red’s, Cyberpunk 2077, but some fans were upset. Why, you might ask? It turns out, it was the art.
By default, Cyberpunk 2077 will feature its grizzled male protagonist on a bright yellow background. Like many in-depth RPGs, however, the player will have the choice between creating a male or female character. If you’d rather play a woman running the streets of Night City, that art no longer makes sense. Thankfully, as confirmed by CDPR to user, Usernamer, on Reddit, that cover will be reversible.
Indeed, while it is small, having the game box match your game experience can be a meaningful, especially if you plan on putting it on display. We saw the same gesture with Mass Effect 3 which was well received by fans.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due for release on April 16, 2020.
