Crucible Team Removing Two of the Three Game Modes

Focusing all efforts on Heart of the Hives

Crucible, the MOBA-esque multiplayer co-op shooter from Amazon Game Studios, will see two of its three game modes removed in favor of polish.

The news comes way via Steam in a developer post for the game, as the team writes that they will focus all their efforts around Heart of the Hives. This means the removal of Harvester Command and Alpha Hunters,

“Focusing on one mode allows us to refine the design of core systems without the compromises we needed to make to support three game modes.”

It looks like Season One will not begin until the community deems it necessary. To that end, there will be two phases for this revamp. The first phase will include building and iterating on the core systems for the remaining game mode. This includes voice chat, an option to surrender, an AFK player system, a better ping system, and a possible minimap.

The second phase will include more systems and refinements. Most of the work in this second phase will be based on feedback from the first phase. However, right now, some phase two items include creature improvement, custom game support, and enhanced social system functionality. An updated roadmap was also shared.
