Class Tweaks & Balances Detailed -

A new article has been published on the Crowfall site that lays out some of the class tweaks and balances that the team has been working on recently. As the team began testing the Ranger archetype, the need to rework some of the Hunger Dome data.

One of the new states that players will encounter is one called "Dizzy", which gives a true feel of being slightly "out of it" by making the camera glassy and difficult to see through. Being out of combat and dizzy simultaneous to being hit can result in a knock down.

In addition, base health and damage modifiers have been reworked:

Base health/damage modifiers – We had been setting up max health and damage bonuses on a per archetype basis by hand. That process sucked, so we changed it. We now have a way to manipulate the mitigation and damage values in data. All archetypes have been baselined to 50,000 health. Each role has the following adjustments:

  • Tanks:  +20% all mitigation types. -30% to Damage
  • DPS: -20% all mitigation types. 0% Damage
  • Specialist: 0% all mitigation types. -20% Damage
  • Support: -10% to all mitigation types. -30% Damage

Confessor, Knight, Champion and Legionnaire have also seen some balance tweaks as well with regard to healing.

It's an interesting read for those who are fascinated by the iterative process behind the game's development. Check it out on the Crowfall site.
