Top Thrilling Announcements from Gamescom

We have been following Crowfall from the beginning even before the game was officially announced. We got to see some of the design ideas and meet in person with the team before the Kickstarter. Now here we are with Gamescom this week and the team is attending a big game show and showing off a lot of great material. For MMO players this is a very exciting time coming into the ideas and philosophy that Crowfall brings to the table. Here is a Top 5 of what to look out for from Crowfall this week:

5. Castles

A lot of these new games bring crafting into a very high level. Todd Coleman and Tom Bentley will be on hand to show off Castles today live. If it has already been broadcast you can likely find the video at Crowfall’s main site. In older MMOs you had castles as objectives and permanent features. With Crowfall and the new era of games coming in, castles are now something you can build. It will be great to watch how this plays out.

4. Artwork

The game has an amazing art history to it. Since day one the visuals have been amazing to see from the early concept stages. Now we are seeing more and more elements come into the early game itself. The team will show off artwork and go through all the upgrades coming. This live broadcast is on Saturday, so try not to miss it.

3. Attending a Show

Nothing makes us happier than to see Crowfall at a game show. The veterans know that going to a show too early with a game can be damaging if the product is not ready. Todd and Gordon know this all too well and the fact that they are attending and hosting live broadcasts means the game has reached a solid state of development. Any of the early backer and fans should begin to see the sprint at the end of a marathon of development come into play.

2. Character Sheets

Your gateway into any MMORPG is always your character. It is an essential part of the game overall for the player, I mean, it is you after all. Todd and Susi Windler will sit down on Friday to go over changes and updates to the character sheets and skill system. This is going to be one of the top watched broadcasts as players will get their ideas around how to build out their avatars with the new changes. Balancing skills and design are paramount in any game. The Crowfall team has been forward with all of their updates so knowing how the skills play out is our number 2 spot.

1. Race/Class Split

This is the only subject to top character sheets. Players are geared up to see which races will play which classes. It has been a major part of MMOs all the way back to the beginning. The Crowfall team is so full of veterans they have gone through this with a fine tooth comb and will balance out exactly how these races fit into their roles. Max Lancaster and Akshay Ramesh will be on hand to show players the breakdown tomorrow. Check for the time on the Crowfall website.
