Updating Game Engine Delays Climbing Patch

Funcom is updating the Conan Exiles game engine from Unreal 4.12 to 4.15 and the process to do so is taking longer than anticipated. The upgraded engine will be worth it in the end, but the slow process of conversion is creating a few issues, most notably the delay of the climbing patch that was expected to be released by now.

The team has plans to maintain progress to the new engine version and to bring out climbing when fully finished. In the end, however, the new engine should make for a smoother overall experience for everyone.

It’s a pretty big leap. This most recent version of the Unreal Engine allows to take advantage of some new features that will help us during the development process of Conan Exiles, for example optimization of both server and client, which should result in a smoother experience for all players.

You can read the full update blog on the Conan Exiles site.
