As part and parcel of today's media dump, the Conan Exiles site has been updated with a brief developer blog that lets fans know that the game is on track for Early Access beginning in January 2017. According to the post, more creatures, tools and items have been added and the lore has been fleshed out.
Other nifty nuggets of information:
- more tools and items have been added
- furnaces, tanning benches and crafting machines expand the crafting system
- significant updates for combat to make it feel "more responsive and impactful"
- motion capture character animations have been added
- the thrall system has been implemented and is working well
In the months leading up to EA, the team has plans to reveal more systems, to release more screenshots and videos and are going to be making some "big announcements" along the way.
