Conan Exiles Community Newsletter Deep Dives Into Weapon Combo Mo-Cap Animations Coming in Pet Update - MMORPG.com

The latest Conan Exiles community newsletter has arrived, this time packed with information about the game's animations. It takes a deep dive into how motion-capture works and brings the game's weapon combos to life with realistic body movement. The new animations will be coming as part of the Pet Update.

So why do we use motion capture? It saves us a lot of time when creating new animations as the animators don’t have to build a full set of motions from scratch. They can just use the human body’s movement to make it for them. It also allows them to create secondary animations practically for free, I.e. how you shift your body weight from one foot to the other when doing an attack.

Weapon combo animations will be part of the Pet Update that will be coming along in the near future. The team is currently playtesting pets and giving the new dungeon a try before deploying it to live servers. Players are actively taking part in testing opportunities for the update via the Testlive server.
