Wizard101 recently fully embraced the "Sherlock Bones" in all of us by creating the Great Detective Bundle. Though I don't know much about Sherlock Holmes outside of a few well-known quotes (yes, I'm very uncultured), I think the bundle itself is pretty cool on its own. Big fans will get and appreciate the nods, but non-Holmes fans like myself get to go on a hot air balloon ride. Everybody wins!
The Great Detective Bundle is available from GameStop (both in-store and online) for $29. The card includes:
- Hot Air Balloon Ride
- Gyrocycle Mount
- Baskerville Hound Pet
- Sherlock's Outfit
- Sherlock's Eyeglass
- 1 Month of Membership or 5,000 Crowns
Hot Air Balloon Ride
This new housing item just makes me even more envious of that elusive flycam KingsIsle employees have access to. Having a bird's eye view of the game is absolutely extraordinary. Unfortunately, while I'd love to take a ride in Celestia Base Camp, I'll have to settle for castles for now. To take a ride, place the housing item down in one of your castles, hit x, and you'll start your journey. Be sure to take a lot of screenshots while you're up there!
Gyrocycle Mount
After you're done exploring the clouds, you'll be able to take your quests to the road. The Gyrocycle Mount is a steampunk wheel which supplies a 50% speed boost. Who in the world ever said four wheels is better than one?
Baskerville Hound Pet
I may not know much about Sherlock Holmes, but I do know that The Hound of the Baskervilles is an EXTREMELY well-known novel. It's only natural to do the play on words! The Baskerville Hound pet is myth and comes with a stun block card. The starting stats are pretty low, so you'd need to hatch a bit before it could become super useful.
Sherlock's Gear and Wand
This bundle's gear is very old-school detective. It stays true to Sherlock's iconic look and you can dye it any color you like. The wand is a magnifying glass complete with a moving eye inside. Both the outfit and wand don't supply any noteworthy stats, but the eyeglass does come with an interesting card called Arcane Deduction. If you can get the maycast to trigger, you'll be able to see what your opponent will be casting.
What do you think of the Great Detective Bundle? Is it on your wishlist?
