Wildstar vs Elder Scrolls Online

Rob: Conceptually a lot of those things sound “fun.” But actually playing them they aren’t. Telegraphs end up taking you out of the game. I’m no longer engaged with the combatant I’m engaged with the UI. Instead of watching your opponent you are staring at the ground to make sure you don’t “stand in the fire.”

Chris: Am I on my last point already? That is no fair, Mr. Lashley, because there is too much more to say. I will end with this, I could tell you about the awesome warplot system or hoverboards or talking hamsters or bunny girls for some reason, but instead I’ll talk about housing. How’s a floating island sound? Sure, you can change the rugs and decorate the place (wait until you see my room of mounted heads), but think bigger. Think modules. How about digging a mine outside of that house or a couple of crafting stations next to your garden? Not big enough? How about a hedge maze that populates with treasure-bearing monsters? An underground dungeon? For a price, even I can be installed as a module.

Rob: You can talk about squirrels and houses all you want. If I wanted cute I’d buy a puppy. I want a war. Not a warplot. I want blood, I want guts, I want to fight for the throne. I want to rescue my soul. Yes, my soul. I want to become the emperor. I want to play in a world that I have spent 100s of hours in over the decades and have grown to love. I want to craft too but I want to get my crafting resources while reaching over the corpse of a dead enemy, not by picking flowers that I grew in my garden or had to fight off some silly worm to mine.

That’s all from us folks. Our sweat may stain the sand but now you’re up for the second round. Let us know what you think in the comments: Wildstar or Elder Scrolls?
