There's a lot of good going on in gaming these days, though much of it is not centered on MMOs or RPGs. We cover tons of interesting, fun stuff at GameSpace.com and invite you to check out some of our original content. Here's a wrap up of what you can find from the week that was.

REVIEWS

The week started off with a bang and the GS Mass Effect Andromeda review and it didn't stop until the last hours of Friday. Her's a listing of our week's thoughts:

Mass Effect Andromeda Review - 8.5 / 10.0 - "That brings me to my final point: When you log into Mass Effect Andromeda for the first time, strap yourself in for a wild ride for the next four or five hours. You’ll be frustrated at times, lost a lot and confused by what exactly it is you’re supposed to be doing. But it’s OK! It gets better and after a few hours, you’ll have mastered things and the story will have gotten its talons into you. "

88 Heroes Review - 7.5 / 10 - "88 Heroes may not win any awards, but if this isn’t an instant addiction I don’t know what is. It’s great for a quick gaming fix with a classic aesthetic and a silly overtone, and a perfect way to waste… 88 minutes at a time, should you so choose! "

Toukiden 2 Review7.5 / 10 - "Toukiden 2 will likely be swept away in the hubbub of larger AAA releases. But if you’re a fan of this style of Action RPG, do yourself a favor and check it out. There’s even a decent online co-op for up to four people where you can rove the world and hunt Oni together. It’s a fun and solid Action RPG, and the best Monster Hunter clone we’ve seen yet."

Fast RMX Review - 8 / 10 - Switch exclusive - "If there was any real complaint about Fast RMX, it’s that it’s missing the modern novelty of RPG progression in its racers. I’d love to upgrade them, tweak them to my liking, and customize them in general. Otherwise, this is a really stellar racer for a mere $20, and one of the best games on the Switch right now. "

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard Review - 6.5 / 10 - "Still, in the end, Vikings is an OK game but it’s nothing special given its potential based on setting. For a certain type of combo action fighting with arcade-style speed type of person, it may be perfectly fine. For an ARPG fan who was looking for the next great game, it’s just not there yet."

OTHER ARTICLES OF INTEREST

Solstice Chronicles MIA - One Hour with the Twin-Stick Shooter - "Solstice Chronicles itself is in early alpha as stated, and does exactly what every alpha needs to do. They have a strong platform to build what could be a great game upon. The game has a lot of breathing room to grow in alpha, its universe, mechanics and gameplay all have a good start. All the team needs to do to make this into a truly good shooter rather than a… dead end… is continue to flesh out what they have and add a nice skin to it."

Dead By Daylight 4 at PAX East 2017 - "My pick (if we were making picks this year) for Game of the Show at this year’s PAX East would undoubtedly be Behaviour’s horror co-op game Dead by Daylight. The basics of the game are really quite simple, play as one of four survivors being hunted by a killer based on one of the classic archetypal killers of Hollywood."

The Long Journey Home is a Fantastic Procedural Voyage - "Imagine you are a space explorer but a crucial test goes awry. As a result, you get hurled through space to the far side of the galaxy, and suddenly your short trip turns into an epic journey for survival and to find a way to get back home. Welcome to The Long Journey Home, which feels a lot like the Oregon Trail in space. The Long Journey Home blends a combination of simulation, strategy, and exploration into a seamless and beautiful game."

Wii U We Hardly Knew You - A Retrospective - "While my complaints were valid, my nay-saying reigning true, and ultimately the Wii U being an underwhelming chapter for Nintendo, all and all you weren’t a bad console. You were just excellent at the wrong things to make it in this day and age. As a modern console, you weren’t firing on all cylinders and you suffered from a creator’s need to innovate where innovation wasn’t necessary, while ignoring the need in other areas."

So there you have it: Some great content if you're looking for something new. Be sure to visit us at GameSpace.com every day. You'll be glad you did (and so will we!)!

In this bi-weekly column we tally up the news from around the almost-MMO-verse and offer our thoughts on the ins and outs of the titles that are big, but maybe not quite "Massive".
