Final Fantasy XV was originally announced back in 2006 as Final Fantasy Versus XIII and has been renamed and reworked to become a new installment in the main series by Square Enix. The game is more of an action RPG than previous titles in the series, and is notable for featuring a darker and more realistic tone. Final Fantasy XV is based around the Fabula Nova Crystallis in-universe mythology, but the game's plot is not tied to previous entries.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an upcoming action role-playing video game in development by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 in 2016. It will be the first intellectual property developed by Guerrilla Games since Killzone in 2004 and will be the studio's first attempt in developing a role-playing game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an upcoming role-playing video game from Warhorse Studios, set in the 15th century medieval Kingdom of Bohemia with a focus on historically accurate and realistic content. The game will be a single-player experience with branching quest lines and a highly interactive world encouraging emergent gameplay. Kingdom Come will feature period-accurate armor and clothing, combat techniques, and real-world castles recreated with the assistance of architects and historians. The game will also contain period music recorded by Czech masters that were taken note for note from medieval song books
Kingdom Hearts 3 (2016) PS4/XBO
Kingdom Hearts 3 is an upcoming Action RPG from Square Enix. It is the first Kingdom Hearts game to be featured on a Microsoft platform, having previously only released on Sony Computer Entertainment and Nintendo platforms, and the first to originally release on more than one console. It is the eleventh installment in the Kingdom Hearts series.
