Welcome back one and all to this week's edition of The Quiz. I've been thinking of calling it Drew Wood's The Quiz, or Drew's Quiz, but I Just can't justify being that self-aggrandizing. As some of you may know, we here at MMORPG.com are getting ready to welcome a new bundle of joy into our lives! That, of course, would be our new website, RTSGuru.com. In celebration of this momentous occasion, please enjoy the following MMORTS Edition of Drew's Quiz!
Q: What is the name of the tyrannical world super power that seizes control of the world after the governments crumble in Trion Worlds' MMORTS, End of Nations?
"The Order of Nations" are the group, having erased national boundaries and identities, and uniting the Earth with the promise of a new peace, but peace always comes at a price. The order of Nations imposed their rule with an iron fist and, after pushing the citizens of Earth too far, the Order of Nations must now face Armed Rebellion!
Q: In Lockpick Entertainment's F2P (With an item mall) MMORTS, Dreamlords: Resurrection, there are three playable races whose armies roam the battlefield. One bares resemblance to Humans, one to Elves, and one to Orcs (as we know them). What are they called?
Covenant (Human), Nihilim (Elves) and Thûl (Orcs)
Q: Without looking at our gamelist, what is the name of the Developer who also publishes the MMORTS Beyond Protocol? For bonus points: What is the EXACT release date of the game?
Dark Sky Entertainment both developed and published Beyond Protocol and the game went live on November 21st, 2008.
Q: There are two planets in Kru Interactive's Shattered Galaxy, the planet on which new characters/players start, or the training planet, and then the planet on which the bulk of the gameplay takes place. What are these planets called?
The training planet is called Relic, while the main planet that factors into the storyline is known as Morgana Prime. I can only assume that it's named after Optimus' sister.
Q: When Palestar's DarkSpace was nearing original launch with Blue Byte Software, what well known video game company purchased Blue Byte and cancelled work on DarkSpace, forcing Palestar back onto the independent market?
In February of 2001, Ubisoft purchased the German-based Blue Byte software and opted out of the publishing of DarkSpace.
Q: Which of the above MMORTS' claims on its website to be: "First ever RTS that provides fully customizable units". You have the ability to design each component of every unit and facility giving you the ultimate power and flexibility to create your own strategy."
That would be Beyond Protocol, and you can see it on their website here.
Q: Which of the above MMORTS games boasts the oldest release date?
DarkSpace comes in as the Elder Statesmen on this quiz, with a release date of December 21, 2001 (Just in time for the holidays!)
