The spotlight of this week's Path of Exile: The Exiled Tribune is a great video from Grinding Gear's Bex and her very own version of POE's Funniest Home Videos. Who'd have thought that each week's Build of the Week could not only be educational but so damned entertaining! Not only that, but we take a look at a pair of Skill Gem reveals, improvements to the Master Missions and the upcoming release timeline for updates.

Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-... That's all, folks

Nothing says fun like a blooper reel and Path of Exile's Bex is ready to unleash the Season 6 Build of the Week blooper video to show that even smooth as silk sometimes becomes nubby polyester.

It's two minutes of fun and grateful thanks to Bex for a good laugh on a Monday morning!

Skill Gem Reveals: Blade Flurry and Blight

With the next big content update coming in the very near future, GGG devs are giving players a great forward look at the three new channeled skills. This week, two were given the blog and video treatment, Blade Flurry and Blight.

Blade Flurry provides a powerful AoE to enemies in the direction players are facing. Stacking up to six times, each "stage" ramps up damage by 20% of the shadowy figures unleashed by the player. As the figures move forward, damage is dealt as it is on returning to the player. Blade Flurry can be used by those with daggers, claws and one-handed swords beginning with the level 28 skill for Shadows. Check this bad boy out:

Conversely, Blight is a channeled DoT spell rather than a 'bursty AoE spell like Blade Flurry. It allows casters to send out chaotic damage in a forward-facing cone. As the waves of blight pass over enemies, up to 20 layers can be applied that continue to tick for the duration. Enemies can also be hit with an 80% reduction in movement speed for a few brief seconds to give casters an opportunity to retreat to cast again. This is one of the earliest Chaos spells that comes from the Enemy at the Gate quest right off the bat. See it in action:

In case you missed it last week, be sure to check out the Scorching Ray skill gem as well.

Improvements to Master Missions

It's like opening a Christmas present six weeks early and GGG has you covered. In the next big content update, a series of pretty awesome improvements are coming to Path of Exile's Master Missions. Most notably, players will find themselves with less back to their forth -- much less backtracking! Who can say no to that?

Elreon, Vorici, Tora, Catarina, and Zana have all been given the once-over and players should notice a marked difference once v2.4.2 goes live in the near future. Looking ahead, Master Leveling will be given a pass as well in preparation for v2.5.0, set for release in December.

Update Schedule

Lastly, the team has posted its release timeline that, while tentative in nature, is something that devs like to stick to as closely as humanly possible...though after that Halloween picture from the last founders' meeting, we might wonder.

Anyway, here's what you can expect over the coming months:

  • 2.0.0: The Awakening expansion (plus Warbands/Tempest leagues)
  • 2.1.0: Talisman league (plus content update)
  • 2.2.0: Ascendancy expansion (plus Perandus league)
  • 2.3.0: Prophecy league (plus content update)
  • 2.4.0: Atlas of Worlds expansion (plus Essence league)

You can read more on the Path of Exile timeline page.

And that's it for this week: All the PoE news that's fit to print!

Did we miss something? Let us know in the comments!
