Camelot Unchained
It’s been a long time in the making, but Mark Jacobs re-imagining of the Dark Age of Camelot recipe is on target for public testing in 2018. Dare we say, it could even make its way to “launch”? That one, only the people at City State Entertainment know the answer to, but each little update shows us that the three-faction game is shaping up to be something special. The size of CU’s battles could be something awe-inspiring. We can’t wait to finally play it ourselves, and hope it makes an auspicious debut.
Ashes of Creation
All 10 of these are all pretty much neck and neck for “Most Wanted” in 2018. AoC makes the list with a caveat given the insane level of hype surrounding its goals and ideas in that it’s that a 2018 full launch isn’t very likely. However, in just another 6 weeks or so we’ll all be seeing how it feels to play in Intrepid’s world as the Alpha 0 test will be going live and players are expected to share their experiences with streams, videos, and more.
Crowfall
Crowfall, the Throne War Simulator, has been making leaps and bounds in its recent development updates. With an insanely deep crafting system, your own personal kingdoms to run, a never-ending series of wars to compete in, and near endless progression for the game’s many archetypes, plus intense siege warfare on top of it all mean that Crowfall could become not only a hit MMORPG, but possibly a surprise hit on Twitch – something any new MMO needs to aim for if it wants to gain notoriety (just ask PLAYERUNKNOWN). This is a game built by a league of talented MMO fans, led by visionaries who’ve made some of the genre’s best-loved games. We’re hopeful for Crowfall, as we are all games on this list.
In short, 2018 could be a whole lot better than 2017 when it comes to our favorite genre. Let’s hope we’re not let down.
