Music, Arts, and... Swimsuits?

Verily, I say unto thee, the drought hath returneth, and I know not the directions to which Western ArcheAge is taken. Speaking more simply, it would be enough to say that after E3, the folks at Trion Worlds and XLGames have kind of gone silent once again. As the drought of Western ArcheAge information continues, let us harken back to the culture of ArcheAge and discuss three developments made known to the community: the ability to play music, the fostering of fan art with in-game galleries, and... well, swimsuits.

Music Sounds Better With You

I completely missed this in my previous post, but it bares mentioning, just so you know there’s another game that provides people with music-making capabilities. ArcheAge gives you the ability to more or less “craft” music.

If I’m understanding this video made by YouTube user Sourabi correctly (see below), it seems making music is an activity or profession you can increase your skill in. With some reagents, you can apparently craft paper to put musical notations on, with the number of notes you can put on paper dependent on your skill level.

While the actual music creation seems to be more of a roleplaying and general leisure add-on, making the music creation system something you can invest time in to improve on does make it an excellent sort of time and currency sink for the game.

Your Art on Display

Remember an earlier ArcheAge write-up where I discussed how the game actually allows people to decorate their things by reskinning items with new visuals? It seems that bit of tech can also help foster the overall ArcheAge community, with what appears to be either player-made or developer-made fan art galleries.

Over on the ArcheAge Source forums, Imporylem posted some pictures of fan art being framed and shown off in-game. There’s even an awesome Attack on Titan fan creation in the middle picture above, which I certainly like. This sort of fan art gallery lends itself to fostering community much like the music system above.

For a little extra effort, you can make ArcheAge a little more of something you want it to be, rather than simply letting the game dictate how you should act. I can imagine this being an excellent way for community managers to be more popular among fans of the game in the long-term, so I’m excited for both of these additions if they make it into the Western ArcheAge localization.

Summer Lovin’, Had Me a Blast

While it’s more of the rainy season in my country right now, it may still be summer somewhere in the world. Steparu.com seems to note this rather well, as the site found a swimsuit video from XLGames to remember summer by. Without further ado, I’ll leave you folks with ArcheAge’s swimsuit courtesy of XLGames’ beach party extravaganza.
