Are you ready for some new MMO’s? Well if you are, then this week’s MMO Launch Spotlight brings you 4 new games that might be worth your time. No reason to dawdle, let’s take a look at what’s new this week.

Blockpost Mobile

Would you be surprised to learn that Blockpost Mobile is a Steam port of mobile game Blockpost Mobile? This tactical shooter by Skullcap Studios brings a familiar shooter feel to a colorful blocky world. There’s dozens of weapons to collect, and plenty of advanced modifications to toy with as you battle dozens of players in arena matches.

There are 3 main game modes, which include team competitions, and you can get more involved with the games community on their official Discord. Blockpost Mobile is currently in Early Access on Steam which released February 18th, with plans to release the game completely later in 2024. Skullcap plans to increase the price (which is currently less than 5 dollars USD) post release. With a mixed review rating, this certainly won’t be for everyone, but the mobile version is free to install, and has been running since 2020, so you might want to start there before spending any cash on Steam.

Myth of Empires

We’re been touting the release of Myth of Empires for a little while, and this multiplayer sandbox MMO developed by Angela Games has finally fully released on Steam on February 21st.  Myth of Empires has plenty to do, with a large open world, the ability to craft over a thousand items and build expansive houses.

If you like taming, you’ll also be jazzed that there’s an in-depth taming and training system for pets, and 25 different development paths if you’re interested in build diversity. It looks like Myth of Empires has a lot going for it, and although the latest player reviews tout a mixed rating, more than 20k players have been logging in throughout launch week. If you want more information on Myth of Empires, you’ll want to check out some of our earlier coverage.

Perfect World M

Another mobile game has made its Steam debut this week with Perfect World M. Weirdly enough, this is more of a PC game that was eventually revamped for Mobile that has now transitioned to Steam. In this resurrected revamped version of Perfect World you’ll partake in some updated visuals (though the UI and visuals still seem very mobile-like) and fly through over 60k square kilometers of open world.

The Perfect World franchise has been known for building a cohesive class and grouping system, and enough content to keep you enthralled for dozens of hours. While the Steam version barely has enough reviews at this point to determine whether the port is worthwhile, the mobile version has been around for quite some time and seems to have some fairly good reviews, so if you’re nostalgic for Perfect World, or if you’ve never had the opportunity to play it and want to see what all the fuss is about, now’s your chance. Perfect World M is free to play on both Steam and mobile devices.

Guild Wars King City (Fierce Battle of the Royal City: Three Kingdoms)

This strategy MMO was released on Steam into Early Access on February 23rd. As a Chinese game with no English translation, it’s one of those titles that likely won’t appeal to a broad audience in its current form. The turn-based nature of the strategy system might appeal to players who are familiar with online strategy games like this.

As an Early Access title, Guild Wars King City (AKA Fierce Battle of Royal City: Three Kingdoms – a google translation) the team at WangCheng plans to modify the game for about 6 months before the game gets to a proper launch state. These games are never very popular on our list, and yet, it has launched, and has been added thusly.
