Marvel's Avengers: Avengers I'd Like to See Added

Marvel’s Avengers September 4th launch is coming up pretty shortly here and the recent announcement of Hawkeye as  DLC character has wheels spinning in my head. What other characters would I like to see added to the game? This may seem a bit premature, but it’s no secret that at six characters, Avengers’ starting lineup is a bit thin.

There are rumors of a secret seventh character (I won’t say who, due to potential spoilers) but even that isn’t a lot for a game like this. So this week let’s take a look at a couple of characters I’d like to see added to the game post-launch.

Spider-Woman

Spider-Woman has been criminally underused in the comics and really all Marvel related media. Despite Marvel never seeming to know how to write her or what stories they want to tell with the character, Jessica Drew does have a compelling backstory as a former HYDRA agent. She eventually realizes she’s on the wrong side of the fight and becomes a fixture in SHIELD, SWORD and even the New Avengers. Her classic costume is iconic in my eyes and her bio-electric blasts and pheromone abilities would be fun to explore in the game.

War Machine

I’ve always preferred Rhodey’s War Machine to Tony Stark’s Iron Man. There’s just something cool about the whole one-man-army aspect of Rhodey’s suit. Sure, Tony’s got tons of cool toys, but War Machine is loaded with munitions and firepower for days. Dude is a walking tank, literally. Gazillion’s Marvel Heroes completely nailed the character’s look and feel and I hope I’ll have the chance to have as much fun with War Machine in Marvel’s Avengers sooner rather than later.

Quake

I’ve always liked Quake, mostly for her earthshattering powers, but Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD definitely elevated the character for me over the years. Now that the show has concluded, I’d love for Quake to live on in Marvel’s Avengers so I can continue to get my Tremors fix.

Captain Marvel

Don’t get me wrong, Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel is great, but Carol has been a long time favorite of mine. Like Spider-Woman, Marvel does seem to have a difficult time writing Carol for whatever reason, but her determined, sometimes self-righteous attitude is endearing to me in its own way. Her photon blasts, flight, and super strength  would be great to utilize in Avengers’ action packed combat. Her ultimate would have to be a Binary mode transformation and I’d probably be giddy at each chance to go what is essentially Super Saiyan in the Marvel universe.

Johnny Storm

It took a real long time for Marvel’s most iconic hot-head to join the Avengers, but the Human Torch did eventually join the team in 2015. I’m not a diehard fan of the Fantastic Four as a team, but the Human Torch has been a favorite of mine since I was just a kid. He’s essentially just a dude on fire that can fly around and toss fireballs, but what’s not to like about that? Also, Johnny’s Annihilus costume was absolute heat, pardon the pun. I would love to see it in Avengers as a legendary cosmetic if Johnny is ever added to the roster.

This list isn’t exhaustive by any means, so expect to see more in the future from me as I dream up other possibilities.  What are some of the characters you’d like to see added to the game? Share your list in the comments below!
