Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week was another slow news week. Still, Nightingale released its Realm Rebuilt update, VRMMO Ilysia got a new real-life energy drink, and Grimrain was added to our list of indie projects.

Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Broken Ranks

Patch 7.42 went live on Monday, September 9th. The patch focuses on making quality of gameplay improvements that were suggested by the community.

Dreamworld

Did you know that the Dreamworld devs do a live stream every Friday at 5pm ET? You can find them on Steam, Twitch, and YouTube.

Elethor

v41 was released on Thursday, September 12th. v41 is the last major Beyond patch before adding T11 to the game.

Eternal Tombs

In coordination with this weekend’s playtest, Eternal Tombs now has its own Wiki.

Grimrain

With the indie news being lighter than usual, I had some time to look around for some new projects, and I came upon Grimrain at indieDB. With a planned release in 2025, Grimrain just announced their first playtest signup is now available on Steam. If you think Grimrain looks interesting, you can join the Grimrain community on Discord.

Ilysia

Have you ever wondered what the potions your characters drink taste like? Now you can find out with Mana Surge. Through a collaboration between Ilysia and Glytch, the ingame potion makes its real-world debut as a sour blue raspberry flavored energy drink.

Nightingale

A final gameplay video was released before the Realms Rebuilt Update went live on Thursday.

Once Human

Once Human’s Mobile Technical Test is scheduled for September 19th.

Profane

A new dev update video was posted this week. CEO BunnyJoker and Head of Product & Planning Erick join community manager Saramantis to discuss some upcoming strategies for Profane.

Prosperous Universe

You know what time it is? It’s time for Development Log #450. This week, Michi shares how things are going on the Gateway Information feature.

The Quinfall

With Closed Beta long gone, the August Development Notes cover all of the changes that have been done to address the feedback from the test.

Realm of the Mad God

Week 2 of the Get Schooled Event is now underway. Two of the three bounties were completed during Week 1, but since the community came so close to finishing the Sulfurous Wetlands goal, the devs decided to count it as completed.

Scars of Honor

I failed to mention the September Development Update, which was live-streamed this week. If you missed it, you can watch the VOD to catch up.

Villagers & Heroes

The Haunted Moors are back! The patch notes for Update 5.31 mention new rewards for the event as well as some general improvements and bug fixes.
