Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Scars of Honor’s (image above) Kickstarter gets off to a slow start, Nightingale moves up its Early Access launch, and Palia has a second go at the Maji Market. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Book of Travels
Update 0.47.4 went live on Thursday, February 8th, and it’s full of changes and fixes. The update includes new quests, improved items, new events, and more.
Britaria
Britaria’s Pre-Alpha Preview Test is underway. The server opened up on Friday and will remain open until 11am Monday, February 12th. Anyone can download and play (flagged as an unsecure download when I tried), and purchasers of Gen 0 characters can try them out. A larger test is expected to be held in April or May.
Broken Ranks
A Valentine’s Day Mini-Event is being held on February 14th through February 21st. To take part in the event, just talk to the Administrator of de Vries Estate.
Dreamworld
The first part of a new tutorial system was included in Weekly Development Release #143. Asset destruction is now easier, and some camera improvements have also been implemented.
Ember Sword
As part of WIP Wednesday, Ember Sword published a YouTube Short to showcase Martish Guldadore’s official Ember Card.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
Ethyrial continues to pump out updates, with three separate patches being deployed this week. One item of note is that the new Monster Journal was added in Patch 2.9.2, giving players the ability to track kills and loot drops, and gain knowledge about monster traits.
Fractured Online
The Endgame Changer update will be released on February 21st.
Mad World
The new Mamon Dungeon that was supposed to be part of the maintenance patch this week has been postponed until next week.
Mirage Online Classic
The first Monthly Online Competition got underway on Sunday, February 4th.
Monsters & Memories
M&M’s January Update was posted this week. Along with all of the usual stuff, Update 39 includes a new video that shows off the different biomes found in M&M.
Nightingale
Inflexion has revealed player stats and given some insight into lessons learned from last Friday’s stress test. Things went so well that Early Access has been moved up by two days to February 20th.
Open Perpetuum Project
A new video posted this week gives a sneak peek at the changes coming in Patch 31.
Palia
Players can earn additional Luna New Year rewards through Twitch Drops. The Drop event will run for three weeks, with a total of 3000 Lucky Envelopes up for grabs.
Prosperous Universe

Quinfall
Quinfall’s first Closed Beta has been completed.
Ravendawn
Patch 1.0.3 went live this week. Items of note include fishing buffs, new Tradepacks and Tradeposts unlocked, Carnival cosmetic items are available, and RavenCoin package prices have been updated.
Realm of the Mad God
Update 4.1.4.0 went live on Tuesday, marking the start of Season 12.
Scars of Honor
Scars of Honor’s Kickstarter has officially started. As of 6am CT Saturday morning, 221 backers had pledged $19,058 of the $200,000 goal. Although there are still 26 days to go, that isn’t a very good start to the campaign. Want to know more about SoH? Watch the video below.
