Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. Other than Zenith’s big Skyward Summit patch, it was a pretty quiet week for the indie MMO universe. Zenith’s VR rival, Ilysia, is still having issues with their account system, Anvil Empires keeps chugging through Pre-Alpha tests, and all of our regulars have their weekly updates on tap, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Anvil Empires

Anvil Empires is cruising through Pre-Alpha tests; the third test will be held on Tuesday, May 16th. This test will focus on PvP, and although specifics won’t be released until Monday, you can bet there will be some serious fighting going on.

BitCraft

Yep, it’s another BitCraft Twitter vignette.

BRITARIA

A new development update was posted to the #game-dev channel on Britaria’s Discord channel. Progress on the HUD has halted due to the lead artist departing the project, but the post does include a video of some new game environments created by the team’s worldbuilder.

The Cycle: Frontier

Patch 3.3.0 went live this week. There are a ton of bug fixes this pass, including fixing the bugs on the planet's surface itself. It appears that Striders have been acting off-script, and that should be fixed now. Players will also find they have more stash space available earlier in the game, and players who never received earned Twitch Drops are now being compensated.

Dragon and Home

The North American mobile Open Beta went live on Wednesday.

Ember Sword

Bright Star Studios is heralding their Open Alpha Playtest as a success, and now they have a recap video to prove it.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

Hopefully, the second time’s the charm, as Ethyrial’s relaunch happened on Friday. You can find the changelog on Ethyrial’s Steam page.

Genfanad

There’s a new blogpost on the Genfanad site that outlines the work the team has done as well as a look at the future of the game.

Gloria Victis

Along with a post about Update 359, a second post this week shares some insight into all of the work in progress that players will benefit from in the weeks to come.

Ilysia

With work still being done to eliminate bugs in the new MagePortal, Beta 1 has been pushed back again. A date hasn’t been determined yet, but on the positive side, players will not have to create a new account once the portal is up and running.

Mist Legacy

A playtest for the new content coming to Mist Legacy is now underway. You can find a full list of changes on Mist Legacy’s Steam page.

Monsters & Memories

The M&M team has published their monthly update, Update 31: Stress Test Results.

Profane

The Profane team held a live stream on Tuesday. Topics included the current state of tests as well as a question-and-answer session.

Prosperous Universe

Fabian used Development Log #385 to discuss more QoL features that have been added to PU, while Michi ran into some technical issues with his work on the Leaderboards.

Tatsumeeko

If you are a Tatsumeeko fan, then you know it’s time for a weekly devblog.

Xsyon

Xsyon’s Spring Update is now live! Work is still being done on the DirectX upgrade, but the latest version of the War System and architecture snap functions are running on the test server.

Zenith: The Last City

The Skyward Summit patch went live this week, and you can catch the patch notes here. Along with the new area, Skyland, the patch added Zenith’s third class, the Cyber Ninja. New life skills, player housing, and many other upgrades were also baked into the patch.
