Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, everyone posted their monthly dev update, Nightingale went offline, and a solo developer calls it quits. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
BitCraft
May’s Letter from the Producer dropped this week. The main topic was Closed Alpha 1, which ended on April 30th. Stats include 6452 players (myself included) and 2211 claims being built. Closed Alpha 2 was also mentioned, with June 16th being the planned start date. You can also catch the Alpha Wrap-Up Stream below.
Corepunk
The Corepunk team discusses new weapon specializations and talents that will make their way into the upcoming Alpha 2 test. Speaking of Alpha 2, there will be room for 10,000 players, leaving about 490,000 applicants out in the cold.
Ember Sword
A new Ember Sword Showcase popped up on YouTube this week that gives a quick look at Rashi, the town crier at Burkhalter’s Academy. Not sure what Burkhalter’s Academy is? Check out World In Progress #89 below.
Embers Adrift

Build 29.0 went live this week.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
Patch 3.1.2 is up on Steam. The patch includes an improved DPS meter, more work on improving the UI, and several other fixes.
Havenhold
Havenhold has announced that the next playtest will be held on June 20th.The test will be for both NA and EU players and will be under NDA.
Mad World
Mad World’s latest weekly patch on May 23rd includes a level cap increase to lvl 95, an increased success rate for Source Memories, and combat tweaks.
Monsters & Memories
Monsters & Memories next stress will begin on Saturday, June 1st. The test will begin at 1pm ET and will run for four hours.
Nightingale
Offline mode is now available for Nightingale players. Part of the 0.3.0 patch, offline mode is just one of the many updates that include the option to skip the tutorial, the A Spark of Hope community event, new NPCs, and much more. Nightingale is also on sale on Steam for 20% off ($23.99). The sale lasts until June 3rd.
Palia
Dev Update #8 was posted this week and it covers the changes coming with patch 0.180.
Past Fate
Patch 0.4.8 dropped this week. Changes include new item drops, an improved starting tutorial, and minor bug fixes.
Prosperous Universe
Development Log #435 was posted this week. The post covers the progress being made on the politics updpate.
Ravendawn
Teaser Tuesday covers two upcoming mechanics that are currently being worked on: the Dueling System and Plunder Channel.
Scars of Honor
A new video posted this week provides a dev update for SoH.
Slay Together
So long, Slay Together. The projects sole developer has called it quits this week, stating that they would not be able to finish the game as a single developer.
A Township Tale
Update 1.7.2.0 dropped this week. New features include micro tutorials, double-sided town signs, and a long list of bug fixes.
