Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, server queues were a major issue as multiple MMOs entered testing, Realm of the Mad God teases its Realm Rework Beta, and Palia is the latest developer to cut staff this year. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

BitCraft

BitCraft’s Closed Alpha started this week! Although no exact end date has been announced, the Alpha is expected to run for about one month. Signups for the Alpah are still available on the BitCraft home page. Let us know in the comments below what you think about the game’s current state.

Elethor

V36 is set to drop on April 10th. The new update, Beyond, will allow you to research and assemble a variety of ships.

Ember Sword

A new YouTube Short answers the question, What should you know about Ember Sword in 2024?

Eternal Tombs

After 6 years of development, Eternal Tombs had its first public playtest this week. The test only lasted two days, but you can request access to future tests on the ET Steam page.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

It was another week full of patches. You can check out all of the patch notes on the Ethyrial Discord Server.

Foxhole

Update 56 went live this week. You can catch up on all of the changes by reading the patch notes or watching the Update 56 Walkthrough video by I Saw A Bear.

Genfanad

Check out Genfanad’s latest blog post, which gives a quick wrapup of the demo that was part of Steam’s Deckbuilder Fest.

Ilysia

Team 21 Studio posted a quick update video that covers the lead-up to its trip to GDC and beyond.

Nightingale

Be sure to check out the changelog for this week’s update.

Once Human

Once Human’s Closed Beta Test was delayed, but only for one day on PC. Mobile players aren’t so lucky and will have to wait until April 11th for the Mobile Beta.

Palia

Twitch Drops are live through April 22nd. Three separate drops will occur over the next two weeks, so be sure to tune in to your favorite Palia Streamer to catch them all. In the meantime, developer Singularity 6 was hit with a round of layoffs this week, with 35% of its staff hitting the chopping block. Is this just the company cutting back after a big push to get Palia released on Steam, or is it a sign of larger financial issues?

Project F4E

There will be a playtest on April 10-13. You can still grab a key if you don’t have one yet.

Prosperous Universe

Check out Michi’s progress on the voting mechanic in Development Log #428.

Quinfall

Two new videos were released this week. The first covers Clan Land and the building system, while the second one covers the tutorial, individual housing, and crafting.

Ravendawn

A new Twitch Drop Campaign started for the month, and you can get up to 5 free Raven Packs by watching your favorite streamer.

Realm of the Mad God

The upcoming Realm Rework will enter Open Beta on April 23rd. The test will take place on the live servers, so you will be able to use all of your current characters during the test. The old Realm will still be available if you need to farm specific enemies that aren’t in the Realm Rework.

Reign of Guilds

After some delays, Reign of Guilds has finally entered Early Access on Steam.

Scars of Honor

A new video dropped this week that recaps the player interviews conducted after the playtest in July.

Screeps

After identifying some issues on Wednesday with the game’s infrastructure, activity on the persistent servers has been paused until the hosting provider can address them.

Tatsumeeko

It’s a new month, so it’s time for a new patch. You can check out the 0.90 patch blog for info on the new Cottage Theme and pet cosmetics.

A Township Tale

A Township Tale is now part of the Meta Quest+ Subscription.

Villagers & Heroes

Patch 5.21.0 was dropped on April 1st (no, it wasn’t a joke).
