Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Once Human reaches 30 million mobile pre-registrations, Clash of Adventurers finds its way to the IMS, and Spring Cleaning brings bug fixes and minor updates to several MMOs. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Broken Ranks
Patch 8.49 went live this week. The patch didn’t have any new content, but was instead filled with minor tweaks and changes.
Clash of Adventurers
We’ve added another indie MMO to the list this week. Enter Clash of Adventurers, an open-world free-to-play MMORPG that is set to launch on Steam by the end of this year. The four-person dev team is creating the MMO in Unreal Engine 5.
DreamWorld
DreamWorld’s latest patch gives all of the new (and veteran) players in the game some improvements to the core gameplay. Mob AI was improved, and other changes include drop rate adjustments, improved UI and controller support, and social HUD friend system upgrades.
Monsters & Memories
M&M held a quick stress test on Saturday. Server stability was the name of the game, and the test only had a single East Coast PvE server available.
Nightingale
If you have been on the fence about checking out Nightingale, you’re in luck. There is now a free limited-time demo available. And if you decide to stick around, all progress made during the demo will transfer to the full game, which is currently 40% off regular price on Steam.
Once Human
Version 1.4.3 went live on Friday. The patch was for general bug fixes and little else.
On the mobile front, it was announced that the title will be released on April 23rd on Google Play and Apple’s App Store. The announcement also noted that there have already been 30 million pre-registrations. And we still refuse to believe that mobile is the future of gaming.
Project Gorgon
Project Gorgon’s Spring 2025 Add-On package is now available in the Gorgon Shop.
Prosperous Universe
Michi discusses community translation progress in Development Log #475.
The Quinfall
Update 20.03.2025 went live this week. Along with general connection and server improvements, character level, PvP, and PvE rankings have been activated, and several minor bugs have been fixed.
Realm of the Mad God
A new Team Letter was posted this week. The letter covers the development updates since the Realm Rework update last year.
Reign of Guilds
Update 0.95.176 went live this week. The update deviates slightly from the timings listed in the recently updated Roadmap due to the tutorial system rework taking longer than expected.
Soul's Remnant
If you were involved in the recent playtest, you can provide feedback to the team.
Villagers & Heroes
There will be a livestream on Friday, March 28th at 3PM EDT on the VH Twitch channel. The stream will have a preview of The Crux Part 2 along with news on other upcoming updates.
