Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. As the rest of the world went gaga over Palworld and Enshrouded, indie MMOs continued to pump out their juicy goodness. Broken Ranks (image above) released their new update, Mad World gets Steamy, and Ravendawn starts to stretch its legs. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Anvil Empires
Get ready to go behind the scenes on Anvil Empires with Devblog 9. Posted this week, the new blog entry follows the development of the windmill from concept to its inclusion in last week’s Pre-Alpha playtest.
BitCraft
What does it take to create a sandbox MMORPG? That topic, and much more, is covered in a new video from BitCraft.
Britaria
It was announced that Britaria would be holding its first Pre-Alpha test February 9-11. The test is open to everyone, and you only need a cyber currency wallet if you wish to use a previously purchased Gen0 NFT character.
Broken Ranks
Broken Ranks’ new update, Shadow of Hope, dropped this week. The update includes 7 new locations, 17 new enemies including a new Boss, and new quests. And, of course, there will be 5 new Legendary items for you should you defeat the new Boss.
Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore
This week’s Coreborn livestream gives a glimpse into some of the upcoming changes in the next patch, which is expected to land sometime next week.
Embers Adrift
Those who can’t get enough Embers Adrift news will be happy to know that the World In Progress (WIP) Wednesday post on the Embers Adrift Discord is back! For those unaware, the previous Work In Progress posts previously highlighted some of the development progress the team had made. The rebranding to World In Progress marks a shift to highlighting the development of the lore and worldbuilding side of things.
Fractured Online
Currently restricted to preselected guilds, the Endgame Changer test server will be opened to more testers on Wednesday, January 31st. That same date will serve as the announcement date for the release of the update itself.
Mad World
Mad World was finally released on Steam, only to have hopeful players smacked in the face with a login error. The error has since been resolved and login compensation is being offered, but has the damage already been done? I guess we’ll see.
Mirage Online Classic
MOC will begin holding monthly competitions next month. The official tournaments will encompass various in-game activities. More detailed information will be coming soon; anyone interested in joining can sign up now.

Open Perpetuum Project
A new devbolg has been posted that outlines the changes coming in Patch 31. The upcoming patch, slated for release around March, will add new elements to the MMO, such as land mines, sentry turrets, and new islands.
Palia
Palia is set to celebrate the Year of the Dragon with its upcoming Luna New Year event. Starting on January 30th, the new event will feature an improved Maji Market, so let’s hope this event is better received than the original Maji Market.

Michi was out sick, so this week’s Development Log #418 features Fabian and Martin.
Quinfall
Closed Beta invites started going out on Wednesday, and we should expect to see a new gameplay video soon.
Ravendawn
Ravendawn continues to see record numbers almost daily, even as it continues to combat its launch issues. RMT (real money trading) has also crept into Ravendawn, and the team has already banned over 200 accounts. In more positive news, the Official Ravendawn Subreddit also opened its doors this week and is celebrating the occasion with a screenshot contest. And for those interested in what is in store for Ravendawn development, be sure to check out the Tavern Journal: The Beginning of a Great Adventure for the current roadmap, buffs to Community Land, and the availability of limited edition bundles.
