Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Nightingale (image above) goes full speed on the hype train, Corepunk talks Alpha Test #2, and Ravendawn pulls out the banhammer. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Anvil Empires
Devblog 10 - Dire Ravens and Deadwood Trees was posted this week. You can read all about how the first flying creature in Anvil Empires will be a menace to adventurers, swooping down from above to attack in groups. The blog also discusses the newest resource to the game, the Deadwood Trees. Often protected by a group of Dire Ravens, players will need a well-armed group if they wish to procure the tree, which will sometimes be adorned with hanging corpses.
And, as a reminder, the next Pre-Alpha Minor Test will be held this Wednesday.
BitCraft
BitCraft used Valentine’s Day as an excuse to show off a few of the various pieces of attire an adventurer can wear while, well, adventuring.

Book of Travels
BoT is currently running a 25% off sale. The deal lasts through February 27th.
Corepunk
It’s always a nice treat to find some Corepunk news, and this week we got an announcement about Public Alpha 2. The second test will run April 23rd through April 30th. The test will include several QoL updates, specializations and passive trees for many of the classes, crafting improvements, and much more.
Dreamworld
Weekly Patch #144 includes building improvements and combat changes. If you haven’t checked in on Dreamworld in a while, you can check out the video below where the Taj Mahal is recreated within the game.
Dual Universe
Dual Universe is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a 2X talent point rate that will last through February 20th.
Eterspire
Update 23.0 is live. The patch includes several bugfixes, with behind the scenes changes to the Eterspire Store and moderating and banning system.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
Along with a couple of other patches this week, a new 35+ dungeon, Elemental Rift, was added to Ethyrial.
Fractured Online
A new video was released this week that covers some of the changes coming with the Endgame Changer update that is expected to be released on February 21st. The video covers primal energy, ghosts, enchanting, and potions.
Hordes.io
Patch 0.52.8654 is live, and includes the new Party Finder!
Nightingale
If you are teetering on the fence about checking out Nightingale when it enters Early Access on February 20th, then there’s a lot of stuff to catch up on from this week. There’s a new Developer Update video that covers the server stress test and Realm Card updates, plus a second video that features an extended gameplay overview; you can check it out below. There’s also a blog post that will be of interest to Steam Deck users. Or you could just skip all of that and check out what Joseph Bradford, editor-in-chief of MMORPG, has to say about Nightingale in his hands-on preview.
Finally, if that isn’t enough to sway you, there will be a Twitch Drop campaign running February 20-27 that will give you a chance to watch others play Nightingale while you earn an exclusive outfit.
Pixadom
Assuming all went as planned, Apartments/Player Housing went live on Saturday. I’d know for sure if all went well, but I submit this column on Saturday morning, and the housing feature doesn’t go live until Saturday evening. If only I could see into the future.
Prosperous Universe
In Development Log #421, Michi discusses the recent maintenance release and his work on the politics update.
Quinfall
In response to player feedback, skill animations have been sped up to improve the pace of combat.
Ravendawn
Ravendawn’s Mentor System has temporarily been disabled as the team works to adjust the experience gain. The issue is not a bug, and anyone who was using the system need not worry about being banned. Speaking of bans, the Ravendawn team has shown just how every player is held to the same standards by issuing a permanent ban to a content creator after multiple ToS violations. Finally, you can check out the patch notes for update 1.0.4 to get caught up on all the changes, which include the eagerly anticipated community housing.
Reign of Guilds
The seventh and final playtest before Reign of Guilds’ Early Access launch this year is underway. The test will run through February 26th.
Villagers & Heroes
Patch 5.19 - Sugarsweet Summit is live.
Zenith: The Last City
A recent devblog discusses some of the new tech and design features behind Zenith: Infinite Realms.
