Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. With many teams taking a break for the holidays, there isn’t much going on. Corepunk learns the hard way how difficult it is to clean up after a bug affects loot drops, and several other studios got in some last-minute updates before the new year, and although it isn’t on this list, Albion Online won MMORPG’s Best Indie MMO of 2024. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Corepunk

Corepunk had a rough week. A recent loot table bug resulted in an influx of Tier 3 Artifacts. The decision was made to remove the artifacts gained through the bug while keeping any that were obtained through legitimate means. Well, things didn’t go as planned, and players lost ALL Tier 3 artifacts. As compensation, players who lost legitimate artifacts, as well as those who reported the bugged table instead of exploiting it, are being rewarded an exclusive themed color and “T3” sticker for the Cyber Spider mount.

Elethor

The NEO Update Open Beta has started. After opting into the beta, create a couple of gearsets and test them out against the new monsters.

Eterspire

Once Human

Open Perpetuum Project

Reign of Guilds

Wild Terra 2: New Lands

Update 2.2.379 is live. The patch introduces Coachmans, which will help players insta-travel to select locations. Inventory size has also been increased, and new agriculture abilities have been added.
