Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Broken Ranks and other MMOs share their 2025 roadmap, Orbus VR is heading towards sunset, and the indie MMO community mourns the passing of a developer. And as a personal plug, be sure to check out my article from earlier this week: 10 Indie MMOs To Play In 2025 And Beyond. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Broken Ranks

A new post outlines the Broken Ranks roadmap for 2025. The roadmap includes the addition of Act 4, a pet rework, a new Rage Bad, and much more.

If you like Broken Ranks' art style, the dev team is offering some free BR wallpapers. Each scene has several resolutions suitable for both PC and mobile.

Corepunk

Artificial Core opted not to wait for its upcoming content update before releasing the next version of the passive talent progression. The update pertains to the passive talents related to the Constructor profession.

Elethor

T11 gear will be released on February 6th.

Ember Sword

If you are currently subscribed to Ember Sword’s newsletter, there is a change coming that you will want to know about. Instead of sending the newsletter directly to your email, it will be moved to Telegram. All major announcements will continue to be shared on Discord as well.

Embers Adrift

The January patch was released on Tuesday. The patch includes a crafting revamp, the addition of a compass to the UI, adventuring XP curve adjustments, and much more. And just a reminder, Embers Adrift is still free to play as they work to move the MMO to Steam following issues with their payment processing.

Eternal Tombs

In-game maps have been added to Eternal Tombs. Maps can be purchased at various vendors. To encourage exploration, the maps will not contain markers for many important areas or secrets.

Farwoods

Farwoods 2025 roadmap has been posted on Discord.

Loftia

Loftia is looking for a Narrative Designer to join the team. If you have two years of experience as a Narrative Designer or Open World Writer on a released game, you can find out more details on the job posting.

Once Human

Once Human has been updated to Version 1.4. The update has a slew of bug fixes.

OrbusVR

It was announced that Orbus VR will officially sunset on April 6th. All sales will stop on February 10th. Players can expect some farewell events before the MMO shuts down.

Project Gorgon

Project Gorgon developer Sandra Powers has passed away. Powers was one of the key developers behind the MMO. Her husband and co-developer, Eric Heimburg, shared the news of her passing on Tuesday.

Prosperous Universe

Get ready for Bulk Selling by reading Development Log #468.

The Quinfall

The Quinfall lanched on January 24th. Although the team made several updates this week, players are still struggling with stability and connection issues. The team opened three new servers and announced that they were facing DDOS attacks. The team has promised to continue working on issues and will compensate players with gifts when things smooth out.

Reign of Guilds

Update 0.95.70 was released this week. The update includes Castle Runes, a balance pass, crafting updates, and much more.

Scars of Honor

Scars of Honor held a livestream this week. The main topic of the stream was the MMO’s roadmap for 2025.

Villagers & Heroes

The Grinchta’s Lair Event ends on February 3rd. Patch 5.40.5 will be released in the upcoming week. The patch will replace Ginchta’s Lair with the Sugarsweet Event as well as a general round up updates and fixes.
