Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, there’s some new PvE content headed to Gloria Victis, Ember Sword gets an Alpha playtest, and City of Titans released its last patch before moving future updates to Titan City proper. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

BitCraft

BitCraft’s weekly Twitter vignette of a tree comes with the disclaimer that next week’s tweet won’t be plant-based. How about next week, you show some actual gameplay? And not a five-second gif, either. A full-blown video. Please?

Broken Ranks

It’s time for another Bunny Marathon in Broken Ranks. The 72-hour event started on April 8th and runs through April 11th, so you still have time to jump into the annual event. The latest update also went live this week, so check out the bugfix 6.27.2 changelog to see all the changes.

City of Titans

A new update to City of Titans has been released. The update adds some new villains, a handful of powers, and a few other changes to the test island. Speaking of the test island, this will be the last update for the test area. The blog post didn’t set a hard date, but it does say that future update releases will be applied to Titan City itself.

The Cycle: Frontier

Patch 3.1.0 was pushed out this week to fix some of the major bugs introduced with the launch of Season 3. Yager also has a new blog post up recapping the first week of the season.

Ember Sword

According to a new blog post, Ember Sword has officially entered its Alpha phase. The first actual playtest will be on April 18th and 19th and is open to everyone. You will need an Ember Sword account to play, so register on the website if you haven’t already done so.

Farwoods

A new update this week rolled out the restructuring of the database code. According to Ethos, the behind-the-scenes update means everything  “should be faster, more efficient, and more reliable.” The server is up 24/7, but you can head over to the Farwoods Discord for notifications of their weekly playtests.

Galaxies of Eden

MIR Cybernetics Corporation announced that they will take Galaxies of Eden in a new direction. According to the post, the previously planned social MMORPG aspects of the project have been put on hold and the team is now “placing a greater emphasis on AI-driven experiences instead of its social gameplay aspects.”

Genfanad

Genfanad’s April 6 update gives a couple of old quests a new coat of paint as well as adding two more Mithril recipes for adventures to procure. You can find the full patch notes here.

Gloria Victis

A new Glory Season starts on Wednesday, April 12th. Along with the new season, next week’s update will also add a new VoD Siege mode. Guilds will also find altar locations across the map where they will be able to summon a new boss to slay.

Margonem

Margonem’s 2023 Easter event is live. Return to Redrock runs through April 26th, and is for characters level 25 and higher.

Monsters & Memories

M&M’s monthly update was posted this week. Update 30 covers all of the usual stuff (concept art, development progress, etc) plus some statistics from their Friends and Family Test. And don’t forget that there will be a public stress test from April 28-29.

Project Gorgon

Update #383 is now live (and I didn’t miss it this time). The update includes changes to uncommon and rare equipment, master-crafted items, and much more.

Prosperous Universe

You can find Development Log #380 here. It’s primarily about a monthly economic report, so it is especially important if you like spreadsheets.

Scars of Honor

The SoH team shared some more lore this week. Be sure to check out the story of Nepherimas, The Undead Queen.

Starkeepers

The Starkeepers team posted a new development update this week. Update #10 speaks to the lessons learned so far from Pre-Alpha.

Super Spatial

A new update (0.18.0) was released this week. According to a Discord post, the update allows you to choose a gaming path (architect, designer, or game maker), improved character customization, and waypoint arrows.

Tatsumeeko

The weekly Tatsumeeko Devblog covers new quests, a new testing phase for fishing, development updates, and a healthy dose of concept art.

The Wagadu Chronicles

The Wagadu Chronicles’ Alpha 3 has been plodding along for a few weeks now, and now the NDA has been lifted. You can still apply for the Alpha test.

Wurm Online

There is an Easter event running from April 9th - 16th. All premium players can forage to find an Easter Basket containing a single-step treasure hunt close to their village.
