Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Coreborn (image above) makes its debut in the IMS as it launches its Open Beta as part of Steam’s Next Fest, Fractured Online goes back online, and Ember Sword published its whitepaper. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Aether Story
According to a new blog post, players can expect “some core changes to the game that will change how you experience your journey.” The post continues by introducing the six playable races that are being added to the game.
Anvil Empires
With Phase 1 of Anvil Empires Pre-Alpha roadmap complete, the devs have posted a roadmap for Phase 2. The roadmap has just two dates listed, with July 18th being the date for the game’s first large-scale, multi-day test.
BitCraft
BitCraft’s weekly Twitter post is once again a fireside scene, but a new Letter from the Producer details what the team will be working on now that Pre-Alpha 10 testing has concluded. The TL;DR version is sound, polish, social systems, and server software updates.

Broken Ranks
Broken Ranks’ next update will go live on Thursday, June 29th. The update notes include the next part of the gear overhaul and boss difficulty levels.
Cinderstone Online
After a week off, a new dev post details what players can expect in the Tier 2 update, which is expected to go live by Friday, June 30th.
Coreborn
Steam’s Next Fest is almost over, but there is still time to check out Coreborn’s Open Beta. If Coreborn is new to you, be sure to watch the June Dev Update video below.
Dual Universe
Update 1.4 went live on Tuesday. The update brings new PvE missions to the game, as well as joystick and gamepad support.
Ember Sword
Bright Star Studio has finally published Ember Sword’s Whitepaper. WTF is a Whitepaper, you ask? Whitepapers are common among blockchain games, and Ember Sword’s Whitepaper details everything there is to know about the game: what type of game it is (MMO), why players will like it, and most importantly, how it will utilize the blockchain to revolutionize the gaming industry and make investors a ton of money.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
Patch 2.3 is live, and you can find the patch notes here.
Fractured Online
Fractured Online is back up and running, as the delayed relaunch pretest went live on Friday, June 23nd. Along with the pretest, there is a new official wiki that is curated by a knowledgeable team of volunteers.
Gloria Victis
Update 364 is live and gives guilds the ability to own a national location and marks the start of the Season of Feudal Lords. The update notes also included an updated roadmap.
Mad World
As Jandisoft continues to recover from a shaky launch, a new patch was released on Thursday that included a new skill for each weapon type as well as balance updates and bug fixes.
Nightingale
With the latest playtest concluded, a new blog post provides us with a summary of the test.
Open Perpetuum Project
After a few weeks of connection issues and server instability, maintenance was performed by the host provider, and the issues should be resolved.
Palia
It was announced during this week’s Nintendo Direct presentation that Palia would be coming to the Switch this holiday season. The team is still focused on the PC version, with a stress test planned for July 6th. The last day to sign up for the stress test was Friday, June 23rd, but you can still sign up for future tests.
Profane
Profane’s June Roadmap was updated this week. With most of the older cards completed, there are several new additions to the roadmap.
Project F4E
A recent Discord post states that the next playtest will be held in early September. The post also notes that the team plans on adding several features for the next test, including a solo queue, quest chains inside missions, The Dragon Vault, and much more.
Prosperous Universe
Development Log #391 continues the discussion about the new rating system.
Ravendawn
A new dev blog covers the new reputation system that will be implemented in Open Beta 2.
Realm of the Mad God
All of the changes included in Update 3.4.0.0 can be found in this blog post. Another post provides more information about the Realm Rework that, unfortunately, won’t be completed in time for MotMG.
Super Spatial
Update 0.21.0 is now live. The update includes improvements to Party Island tutorials, loading screen tips, and improvements to the Daily Helper tasks.
Tatsumeeko
The Tatsumeeko Weekly Dev Blog has a preview of Tatsumeeko Sandbox 1, tons of concept art, and a free Pride Bow to commemorate Pride Month.
A Township Tale
Patch 1.5.2.2 went live on Thursday. The patch primarily focused on server stability, but there were a few other items listed on the changelog.
