Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Gloria Victis waves goodbye, The Day Before returns to Steam, and Book of Travels (image above) celebrates two years in Early Access. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

BitCraft

BitCraft is starting to pump out developer interviews and blogs. Along with their regular weekly tweet showing a couple of characters sitting next to a campfire, they posted BitCraft Design Blog #3 as well as a “What is BitCraft” conversation between Carter Minshull, Game Director of BitCraft, and Tyler Cloutier, CEO of Clockwork Labs.

Book of Travels

Might and Delight gave everyone a Halloween treat by dropping their biggest BoT content update (0.44.5) on Tuesday, including a new area, 15 new achievements, and the reintroduction of character death. The update marks the two-year anniversary of Book of Travels going into Early Access.

Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore

The Dark is the Night update went live on Monday. The update adds new nocturnal variants of many creatures, new lamps to light up your town, and a new end-game level gear, the Moonhunter armor set.

The Day Before

What a week for The Day Before. Fantastic actually hit a release date by dropping their ‘Final Trailer’ on Thursday, and in doing so also slipped in that Early Access would now be delayed until December 7th. Fantastic also announced that they had won back their name, and The Day Before is back on Steam. The drama still isn’t over, though, as it has been confirmed that the previously announced Beta Test will only be open to volunteers who work on the game.

Fractured Online

Fractured Online’s Steam Patch has been deployed. Character creation is open for everyone in advance of the relaunch on November 8th. Name reservation is also open for all owners of a Legend pack or higher.

Genfanad

There is a new blog post covering how the TCG update will affect co-op and PvP content.

Gloria Victis

The switch was pulled and the Gloria Victis servers went offline on Tuesday. A farewell message thanking players was posted on the GV Discord channel.

Ilysia

Tavern Talks Episode 3 was posted to YouTube on Monday. CEO Tyler drops by once again to answer community questions.

Into the Echo

A new update to Journey Across Raava went live on Wednesday. The new update adds lore for the East End Colony and Magnus Forge.

Margonem

Margonem’s Halloween event, Town of Deadlow, is running through November 20th. The event is open to characters level 25 or higher.

Monsters & Memories

Monsters & Memories was in the Developer Spotlight on the r/MMORPG subreddit. There is also a stress test planned for November 11th.

Pixxelverse Online

A new post on Discord states that the development of Pixxelverse Online is being put on hold for a “small bit of time” as some team members deal with some real-life issues.

Prosperous Universe

Michi talks about the team’s strategy planning session in Development Log #408.

Quinfall

Quinfall claims it has one of the largest open worlds ever for an MMO. This week, Kanishka Thakur takes a look at this claim and other aspects of Quinfall in an editorial published on MMORPG.

Ravendawn

Developer Update #28 was posted this week. Although the blog post doesn’t give an exact release date (it is within 80 days), it does cover the work the team has been doing to prepare for launch.

Tatsumeeko

The November update for Tatsumeeko is here with patch 0.85. Each monthly patch adds new themed content, and with winter coming, this month’s theme is Sweater Weather.

A Township Tale

A new update went live this week to fix several of the community-reported bugs. Although the update didn’t add any new content, the player limit for standalone servers was raised to 12 players.
