Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, we prepare to say goodbye to Gloria Victis. GV, like The Cycle (which is also sunsetting soon), has been a part of the IMS since the first column over two years ago. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Anvil Empires

Anvil Empires’ Pre-Alpha Test roadmap received some minor updates. Tests are being moved from Tuesday to Wednesday, starting with a Minor Test on Wednesday, September 6th. The next major PvP test will now begin on Wednesday, October 4th.

BitCraft

Along with the regular weekly Twitter vignette, we also got a new post discussing SpacetimeDB - what it is, what it does for BitCraft, and how it will be good for the community.

Book of Travels

Update 0.40.3 went live on Thursday. You can find the changelog on BoT’s Steam page. For those of you logging in after the patch to find your pockets emptied by an unexpected bug, a fix has been applied, and your stuff should be back where it belongs.

Britaria

It was announced on Thursday that a new agreement was signed with Citadel to grant IP rights to Moonglow Games for use with Britaria.

Broken Ranks

In a new blog post, the devs outline the next round of gear reform that will be coming in the next update.

Cinderstone Online

It was announced on Friday that Cinderstone Online would officially release on September 5th. That’s pretty short notice! The price of CO will be reduced to $14.99 upon launch, and anyone who purchased the MMO for a higher price will receive two exclusive pets as compensation.

Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore

If you missed Coreborn’s weekly livestream on Thursday, you can replay it on Twitch or YouTube.

Embers Adrift

A new trailer for the August 2023 patch: Power of the Ember Veins was released this week.

Genfanad

The Genfanad servers went offline on Friday. The servers will be offline until a new beta server spins up towards the end of September to test out Genfanad’s evolution to a TCG/MMO hybrid.

Gloria Victis

After a decade of development and mere months after its full release, Gloria Victis will be shutting down after the current Glory Season ends on October 31, 2023.

Ilysia

Episode 1 of Tavern Talks has been posted to YouTube. Each episode of the new series will see a rotating cast of team members answer questions from the community.

Loftia

Loftia’s Kickstarter campaign officially ended on August 31st. In total, 16740 backers pledged $1.27mil, nearly ten times the original goal.

Mad World

Mad Pass Season 2 ended on Friday. In its wake is a new login event for September, giving you a chance to earn thousands of gold and other items just for logging in throughout the month.

Palia

A new dev update was posted this week. The post recaps many of the new features coming to Palia. A separate post from Aidan Karabaich, Game Director for Palia, talks about the beta and beyond. And, considering the amount of negative feedback surrounding the premium store and the Maji Market event, a third post was made this week regarding monetization.

Profane

The team shared an infographic about the community tests that have been running since March.

Star Sonata 2

A new dev diary covering the new Emperor Reward System was posted this week.

Super Spatial

A new update (0.23.0) went live this week.

Tatsumeeko

The monthly patch log was posted this week.

A Township Tale

Patch 1.5.4 rolled out on Thursday. The patch didn’t add any new features, just a few bug fixes.
