Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, we saw several in-game events for St. Patricks Day. There were also several VR related announcements, including Ilysia’s Alpha Test and Zenith’s decision to end support for legacy devices. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

BitCraft

BitCraft Twitter got a little salty this week. I’m starting to get a little salty because BitCraft still isn’t showing us anything substantial.

Broken Ranks

TaernCon 2023, Whitemoon’s annual convention for the Broken Ranks community, will take place in Wroclaw, Poland on July 1st. That gives you almost four months to polish up your Polish and prepare your cosplay outfit.

The Cycle: Frontier

The final patch of Season 1 is now live. You can find the patch notes for patch 2.8.0 here. The patch included the end-of-season event, Storm Divers. Players can also take advantage of the Steam Spring Sale to get TCF DLC at a steep discount.

Dual Universe

You’ll need the luck of the Irish to win the DU Fool’s Gold Event. 500 m3 of glossy gold honeycomb goes to whoever has the closest guess at how much gold is inside the Fool’s Gold Pot located at the Green Hall at The Exchange. You have until Monday, March 20th at 14:00 UTC to enter your guess.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

There is still time to join in on the latest Ethyrial playtest. You have until Tuesday, March 21st to try out character creation, check out the newly added jewel crafting, hit up the Shrine of Melrenor dungeon, and much more. You can opt in to the playtest on the Ethyrial Steam page.

Foxhole

ABLE War 102 began on Friday, marking the first war of Update 52. You can find the patch notes for Update 52 here.

Genfanad

Thursday’s weekly patch introduced the new quest, Bogged Down in a Creepy Hollow. The patch notes also include a quest reward rework and several QoL changes.

Gloria Victis

Update 353 is now live. The patch sports some new wood in the form of enhanced tree and fence graphics. You can find the full patch notes on the GV Steam page.

Hordes.io

Dek (creator of Hordes.io) posted a short video to Twitter showing off a forest inspired by WoW Classic.

Ilysia

If you missed Team 21’s livestream announcement on Monday, you can still watch it on their YouTube channel (or just press play below). Of course, the announcement was followed up with a development update that highlighted the updated graphics the team has been working on.

OrbusVR

The Spring Festival is now live in OrbusVR. You can find the full patch notes for Patch 26.01 here.

Palia

Singularity Six published an infographic showing off the community interest in Palia. You can find the full blog post on their website.

Profane

Profane shared a video on Twitter that shows off some spell effects. The video has a WiP disclaimer, but it looks like the team is making good progress.

Project Gorgon

A minor update went live this week. Along with some minor bug fixes, the patch makes some tweaks to the new systems from the last update.

Prosperous Universe

Development Log #377 explains the happenings behind the sluggish gameplay after the most recent maintenance patch went live.

Ravendawn

With Open Beta approaching, Ravendawn revealed its Content Creator Program. New devblogs also dive into the Warfare and Witchcraft Ravencards, and a short video gives a time-lapsed look at how the artwork for one of the cards was created.

Realm of the Mad God

It feels like RotMG has an event for every holiday, and St. Patrick’s Day is no exception. You can read about how to spawn the Green Leprechaun and all of the other changes of Update 3.3.5.0 in the patch notes.

Tatsumeeko

Be sure to check out the latest Tatsumeeko devblog.

Villagers & Heroes

You still have a few hours to join in on the St. Patrick’s Day celebration by hunting leprechauns that are randomly spawning on all servers throughout the weekend.

The Wagadu Chronicles

Alpha 3 began this week. I’m sure we’ll have more news and updates as the Alpha continues.

War of Dragnorox

It was announced this week that all classes are built and ready for Alpha testing.

Zenith: The Last City

It was announced this week that beginning with Update 1.3, some legacy devices will no longer be supported. This includes the original Quest and the PS VR1. Users of these devices will have their own dedicated shards that will remain at the current patch (Minor 1.2.2).
