Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Fractured Online exits Early Access to tens of players, City of Heroes Homecoming enters the IMS with a huge update, and Dual Universe announces a standalone client. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Broken Ranks

We mentioned Broken Rank’s Summer Events last week. Whitemoon Games made a post this week with more details about the events. They also posted a recap video of TaernCon 2024.

City of Heroes Homecoming

City of Heroes Homecoming finally gained NCSoft’s blessing back in January. This week, Issue 28: Legacy, Page 1 was released. The update includes a new raid zone, a new story arc, and much more.

Dreamworld

After 156 straight weeks of posting the most minute updates to Dreamworld, all we have gotten is a tease about several large features the team is working on for the last eleven weeks. Let’s hope they have something special in the works that is worth the wait.

Dual Universe

Novaquark announced myDU, a standalone version of Dual Universe. With the myDU client, players will be able to spin up their own server and play DU without a subscription. The team expects the client to be released in mid-August.

Ember Sword

Beta Test 1, Patch 3 was released this week.

Palia

The Summer Serenade Update (patch 0.182) will go live on July 30th.

Pixadom

Pixadom celebrated its one-year anniversary over the weekend. Attendees to the event receive a special birthday badge. This weekend also marked the release of the Coral Cove area and Marlin, the fishing NPC. Yes, that means there is a new fishing minigame!

Prosperous Universe

Michi follows up on Fabian’s announcement last week with more details on Gateways in Development Log #444.

The Quinfall

The Quinfall 2nd Closed Beta Test is now over, and our very own Sam Plaisance shares his thoughts on its highs and lows.
