Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Anvil Empires adds cargo ships, Broken Ranks raises money for flood victims, and City of Titans says goodbye to a loved friend. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Anvil Empires

Devblog 18 has been posted on Steam, and it appears that cargo ships have found their way into Anvil Empires. Cargo ships will be able to hold eight passengers and two vehicles, including horses, carts, and caravans. Rudimentary sail mechanics are already in-game, giving you a speed boost based on wind direction.

Broken Ranks

It always feels good to see gaming communities come together when others are in need. In an effort to help those affected by flooding in Southern Poland, the Broken Ranks community raised 105,753 PLN (27,688 USD).

City of Heroes Homecoming

A recent post on the CoHH forums shared that the new name release policy is set to be activated on November 1st. Characters will be flagged as ‘inactive’ based on their level (lvl 1-5: 30 days, lvl 6-49: 1 year, lvl 50: never). Once a character is flagged, their name will become available, and if taken by another player, the original character will be renamed.

City of Titans

This week, MWM said farewell to Nathan “Red Warlock” Purkiss, who passed away after a battle with cancer. Red Warlock was a volunteer for the CoT project and was the primary City Designer and Builder of Titan City.

Farwoods

A pair of updates this week fixed some minor bugs and added some new traits into the game.

Nightingale

Patch 0.5.2 was applied to the servers on Wednesday. The patch served primarily to fix some bugs, but a few minor game changes were also thrown in.

Profane

We still haven’t heard any news on when the next round of testing will begin for Profane, but the UI team shared a pic of the updated Crafting Interface.

Project Gorgon

The September Update Notes were posted to Steam on Monday. Topics include horse genetics, the soft launch of the instanced guild halls, treasure effect changes, and general bug fixes.

Prosperous Universe

Michi answers some of the community’s questions about gateways in Development Log #453.

The Quinfall

With the Third Closed Beta over, a new video was posted highlighting some of the events that were held over the final weekend.

Realm of the Mad God

Update 5.2.0.0.0 brings Spooky Season 17 to RotMG

Reign of Guilds

Update 0.94.1133 was patched in this week. The patch consists of profession balances, improving castle capture mechanics, and general bugfixes.

Scars of Honor

The Scars of Honor team will be holding a livestream on October 18th, at 3pm EDT. You can view the stream on all of the SoH socials, including Twitch, YouTube, X, and Facebook.
