Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related so you don’t have to. This week, Defiance gets an indie reboot, Ilysia gets its biggest update ever, and Monsters & Memories announces its next playtest. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Broken Ranks

A new Polish server will be opening on March 22nd. The new server will give veterans and new players alike a chance to experience Broken Ranks from a fresh start with all of the updates and improvements made since its original launch.

Defiance

Defiance, the sci-fi themed MMORPG that originally launched in 2013, is being revived by indie developer Fawkes. The launch of the original 2013 version will initially only be available on PC, with a re-release of Defiance 2050 for both PC and console coming in the future if the initial relaunch goes well. Arkhunters can fight for humanity beginning April 18th.

Elethor

The recent Spire update included some flawed math that made killing monsters way easier than intended. With a fix in place, Spire progress has been reset for all players.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

An update on Saturday was full of lighting improvements, better movement animations, and much more. Many of the updates should make leveling your character easier than ever before.

Ilysia

Ilysia has received its largest update to date: Tides of Corruption (0.4.0). The update includes all new level 1-10 content and story, new professions, a fast travel option, and much more.

Monsters & Memories

Monsters & Memories will hold a new playtest April 11-13. All characters from the previous test will be available on the Relle server. Two additional fresh start servers will also spin up, one for PvE and the other with PvP enabled. You can register for an account here.

Nightingale

Nightingale City is coming to Nightingale. CEO Aayn Flynn and art director Neil Thompson discuss the update in the newest Dev Bites video, which you can watch below.

Once Human

Update 1.4.3 went live on Wednesday. The updated included the new Non-Shutdown servers, a new scenario: Harvesters’ Market, and the new Spectral Hunt event.

A playtest was held on Thursday. If you were part of the test, let us know how it went in the comments below.

Project Gorgon

To celebrate 7 years on Steam, players can redeem a 7th Anniversary Gift Pack. The pack contains a treat, title, Live Event Credits, and other miscellaneous items. You have until April 30th to /redeem your prize.

Prosperous Universe

Development Log #474 has been posted.

The Quinfall

Ping issues on the European server have been resolved. Server capacity was increased slightly. Instead of opening more servers, the team will be deploying sub-servers to support the European server, allowing all players to continue playing on a single-server environment. To compensate players, a 3-day 100% EXP event was held this weekend.

Realm of the Mad God

Update 5.9.0.0 went live on Tuesday. The update also marked the beginning of Season 20. The update also includes the Knight and Archer class updates and a St. Patricks Day event.

Screeps

Screeps: Arena has been updated to version 0.2.2.
