Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Genfanad stops development, BitCraft explains skill progression, and Mad World celebrates its one-year anniversary. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

BitCraft

Wondering how skill advancement works in BitCraft? You can find out all the details on the early game skill progression in the video below. And for a full look at BitCraft, be sure to read MMORPG’s April Alpha Impressions piece by Christopher Hutton.

Broken Ranks

This week’s changelog for Patch 7.39 covers the new legendary gear as well as other miscellaneous changes. Need something more than new gear to get you back into Broken Ranks in May? Each weekend in May will have its own special in-game event, including extra pet experience, extra psychoexperience from drops, extra player XP, and increased drop rate.

Cyborg Immortal

There is a playtest currently available for Android users in all regions. Anyone who joins in the playtest will earn a free cosmetic set.

Embers Adrift

Based on player feedback, the Embers Adrift team has decided to walk back their proposed content compression change.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

Patch 3.0.7 went live this week. The patch focused on the cooking rework which comes with over 250 recipes.

Foxhole

Community Highlights 93 was posted this week, and it features some of the fanart submitted over the last month.

Genfanad

And it’s gone. The development of Genfanad has officially ended. Like many indie MMOs, financial viability due to lack of interest is the culprit. The game’s Steam and Patreon pages have been shut down, while the servers will remain open through April 30th.

Mad World

Mad World is celebrating its first birthday with a new event. The month-long event includes a Tier 6 dungeon and several other new additions to the game.

Nightingale

A new gameplay video highlights many of the changes that went live with Patch 0.2. There are new weapons to collect, a crafting overhaul, and new enemies to battle.

Once Human

iOS Pre-Registration is now open.

Palia

Patch 0.179 was dropped this week. The patch added some new Friendship Level 5 Quests, a new Courtyard building for your plot, and more.

Prosperous Universe

Development Log #431 is here, and this week Michi explains how Motions work.

Quinfall

A new video highlights the caravan system and mounts.

Ravendawn

Patch 1.0.6.4 went live this week. Players will find new fishing skills, mining buff, and more.

Realm of the Mad God

The Realm Rework Open Beta went live on Tuesday.

Scars of Honor

There will be a livestream on Thursday, May 2nd, in which the dev team will give a sneak peek at the development progress the team has made. Tune into the SoH Twitch page at 3pm ET for the event.

Starbase

It has been a while since Starbase was in the IMS, but this week we have a new development update video to share.

Villagers & Heroes

The Equinox Event Zone will go live on Monday, May 6th. Unfortunately, although Season 8 of Raids was expected to begin on that date, it has been postponed until late May or early June.

Wurm Online

April’s monthly skin is a Companion Bird Hat. I mean, who doesn’t want to have a bird’s nest on their head?
