Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. In This week’s news, farmers can now grow animals alongside their crops, Prospectors are getting a new map to explore, and several alpha and beta tests have been slated for next month. There’s plenty of other stuff going on as well, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Adventure Land

BitCraft
Seeing the caption “The grind is real” on this week’s Twitter post sent shivers up my spine. Fortunately, the vignette clarified that the grind was in regard to making bread, not the typical MMO grind I was thinking of.

Book of Travels
Along with Tech Blog 14, a new post on the BoT Steam page outlines some upcoming train and boat travel changes.
Chimeraland
It was a busy Thursday for Chimeraland. Along with server maintenance, a new server, IceRiver, was added to the Americas server pool. Thursday also marked the beginning of the Draconic Galactica Treasure Hunt event.
Cinderstone Online
A free Open Beta is coming to Cinderstone Online. The Beta will run from September 1st through the 8th. Players will be able to try out three classes up to level 20 by putting them through their paces in the first main chapter of the story and two Party Dungeons. You’ll also be able to unlock end explore 2 open world maps and one capital city. And don’t forget to test out the new systems the dev team has been working on, including the crafting system, Caravans, Node events, and the Siege system.
The Cycle: Frontier
Season 2 of The Cycle: Frontier is coming soon! Along with several other updates, the new season will have a third map, Tharis Island, for players to explore, exploit, and dominate.
Dual Universe
As was mentioned in last week’s IMS, Ask Aphelia #14 was posted on Thursday. The Q&A podcast was dedicated to answering several of the community's questions about the upcoming DU launch. Along with the podcast, Novaquark posted a guide to help players prepare for the upcoming reset.
Elethor
A small update will be coming to Elethor on September 1st. Focused on The Spire, the Daily Boost multiplier will be replaced with a new Vault Boost multiplier to increase your end-of-month rewards.
Ember Sword
According to multiple announcements on Ember Sword Discord, Bright Star Studios is scaling up for the next stage of global growth. This includes an updated management team, with co-founder Joris Huijbregts taking on the role of Chief Development Office. Other key roles have been filled by industry veterans from brands such as Blizzard, Riot Games, King, and more. You can get the full details from the press release.
Foxhole
Siege Camp announced they would be holding a live stream on the Foxhole Twitch channel. The stream is set for Wednesday, September 7th, at 2PM EDT to reveal the 1.0 update. The 1.0 FAQ has been updated in advance of the stream.
Fractured Online
There will be a Free Play Weekend from September 2nd to the 5th. The weekend special events will include the Trouble With The Obsidian Rupture spawn event. This is a perfect chance to try out Fractured Online before its Early Access release on September 15th. And as you anxiously await the free play event, be sure to check out the replay of the Council of Elysium Chapter 9.
Gloria Victis
With Weekly Update 331, players can now add animals to their farms with the new animal husbandry system. The update also includes a sneak peek video of the upcoming improved day and night visuals, and plenty of QoL updates as well.
Legends of Aria
There have been some minor changes to the $ARIA listing schedule to align the DEX and CEX listings. You can get all the details in this blog post.
Mad World
Mad World will have its first Closed Beta test from September 15th through the 21st. In the meantime, be sure to check out the new Mad World Gamescom 2022 trailer!
Mist Legacy
Version 0.1.25.0 went live on Thursday. You can find the update notes on the Mist Legacy Steam Page.
Past Fate
With the server issues and other bug reports during the current Open Alpha testing, Icy North Games announced that it would be delaying Past Fate’s Early Access release. The new release date should be announced after the Open Alpha is completed.
Profane
INSANE is showing they have skin in the game. A tweet this week showed off the work that goes into conceptualizing many of the skins being developed for Profane.

Realm of the Mad God
After reviewing data from the last couple of weeks, DECA Games is tweaking the experience needed to complete all 78 levels of the Battlepass.
Scars of Honor
Beast Burst Entertainment has been busy updating the Gallery pages on the Scars of Honor site. Along with some cool wallpapers, there are updated in-game models for the existing races, including new pages for the Bearan and Gronthar races.
Tatsumeeko
A new staking system was announced this week. Among the changes are a new UI, multiple lock durations, and reduced fees. There is also an updated Meekolony Guide to Staking to reflect the changes. And don’t forget to check out the Weekly Blog for other Tatsumeeko news and updates.
Villagers & Heroes
Equinox 2022 goes live this week. The event zone, The Oases of Anuk’Amon, will have new outfits, 20 hidden one-time chests to find, and plenty of other changes for players to discover.
