Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, it appears that many studios are still nursing a New Years Eve hangover as things are still pretty quiet. A couple of MMOs did show up in Nvidia’s CES presentation, while several studios looked back at the progress made in 2022. There’s plenty of other stuff going on as well, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

BitCraft

Along with their normal weekly Twitter vignette, BitCraft showed off multiple frames of concept art the team has been working on.

City of Titans

An 18-minute video was posted on the City of Titans Discord this week. The video is of a superhero flying around various areas of Titan City and showcases the weather and lighting effects of Unreal Engine 5. If you don’t feel like joining the CoT Discord, it has also been posted to Dropbox.

The Cycle: Frontier

During CES 2023, Yager announced that it would be partnering with Nvidia to upgrade from DLSS2 to DLSS3.

The Day Before

With less than three months until its release, we still have a lot to learn about what The Day Before will offer players. With the release of the RTX ON gameplay reveal trailer this week at CES 2023, we do know that the game will look fntastic!

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

Ethyrial will be holding a stress test from February 3-5. The test will only have a single server, and players are encouraged to push it to its limit in search of bugs. The team also posted a track from the original soundtrack to Youtube.

Farwoods

A 2022 Year in Review post was added to the Farwoods devblog. The post gives a month-by-month account of the team’s progress on the game.

Foxhole

Foxhole kicked off the new year with ABLE War 100. The new battle started on Monday, January 2nd.

Genfanad

Genfanad’s 13th update went live this week. Along with a slew of bug fixes, the update added a new quest, Tears of an Incarnation.

Gloria Victis

After taking a week off, the team has kicked off the new year with Weekly Update 346. The update is a biggie and includes a new death penalty, an adjustment to movement speed in combat, and some new events in the middle of the map.

Mad World

In addition to all of the recent creature reveals, a new GM Note on the Mad World website shares all of the changes and updates to content that the team has made since the CBT. The list includes several new quests and a new Act 5 dungeon.

Mirage Online Classic

Did you play Mirage Online Classic in 2022? If so, the devs are asking for your feedback through a quick 10-question form to fill out.

Profane

The team shared a slew of screenshots from a recent internal test. There aren’t any combat or action scenes, but there are plenty of shots of some village buildings that look pretty cool.

Ravendawn

The team has a new category for their devblog this week: Creatures of Ravendawn. In the new post, the team goes through the process of creating the Frozen Gazers that can be found on the icy island of Glaceforde.

RetroMMO

After 1 ½ years of development, RetroMMO has a new game engine. Anyone using the desktop client will need to download the updated client.

Wild Terra 2: New Lands

I find it amazing that MMOs still have to announce that you can be banned for using bots, cheats and RMT sites, but that’s exactly what this post on the WT2 Steam page is all about.
