Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, I found a single-player MMO, BitCraft is headed to Steam, and Fractured Online changes hands. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Anvil Empires

Anvil Empires’ next test begins on Monday, March 17th. Devblog 22 - Three Empire War Update outlines the changes coming to the game, including the addition of the Pagan faction. There are a ton of other updates and new content coming with the update as well.

BitCraft

BitCraft’s big announcement was finally revealed: The game will launch on Steam on May 29th. On its Steam page, you can request access to the online playtest and wishlist it.

Book of Travels

Update 0.53.1 has been released. The short patch notes contain mostly bug fixes, something we can expect going forward, as the team has announced that content updates would be “rare and far in-between.”

Broken Ranks

The newest Discord Pillars have been announced. Each month, three community members are recognized for their helpfulness and positive impact on the Broken Ranks Discord server. This month, @.shrix and @marcusthane extend their Pillar status along with new Pillar @signwm_20439.

As for in-game news, the Wreaker of Havoc event is underway, and Patch 8.48 has been deployed.

Corepunk

Saturday’s Devblog post gives more information on upcoming content updates, including changes to late-game alchemy, runes, and additions to weapon crafting and mastery.

DreamWorld

DreamWorld was featured on IGN with a newly released Gameplay Reveal Trailer. You can watch the trailer below. If you like what you see, you can join the playtest by heading to the DreamWorld Steam page and requesting access through March 16th.

Elethor

V44 has been released, bringing with it a Spire rework.

Erenshor

During my internet travels this week, I came upon an article on Gamerant about an indie developer creating Erenshor, a single-player “MMORPG.” Not a true MMORPG, Erenshor is an MMORPG simulation in which you are the only real human, with the rest of the server population made up of handcrafted simulated players called SimPlayers. You can find a demo of this unique take on the MMORPG genre on Steam.

Eternal Tombs

Although the team is rolling out updates on Steam, the build is for internal testing only and public access is not available at this time. Speaking of public testing, there isn’t any test planned for March, but the team is working on new content for the next public test.

Fractured Online

It was announced that Fractured Online is being taken over by Happy Cauldron Games. Although the original co-founders of FO are joining the team, development will have new leadership.

Monsters & Memories

Update 46: January and February 2025 has been posted. The update mentions an April Playtest that will run from the 11th through the 13th.

Once Human

The March event calendar includes the MetaFace Studio, Treasure Bazaar, Lunarspawn Deception, and Top Architect. It was also announced that Once Human would be getting permanent no-wipe servers

Prosperous Universe

Check out Development Log #473 to see what Michi has to say about shared inventories and gateway upkeep.

Soul's Remnant

The upcoming Open Beta has been postponed so the team can continue to make Soul’s Remnant “the best it can be.” There will still be a short 3 day test starting on March 15th that is open to anyone on the Soul’s Remnant Discord.
