Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Dreamworld comes to Steam, Fractured Online entices guilds with a new trial, and RotMG celebrates the Month of the Mad God. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Broken Ranks
Phase One of Closed Beta testing of the mobile version has been completed. Testers now have access to the live servers. They can be identified by a special icon over their heads.
Dreamworld
Dreamworld is now on Steam. Support for the native launcher will continue for now, but the big development release we mentioned in last week’s IMS will be available only on Steam.
Eterspire
After a critical bug caused a short delay, Eterspire Build 32.0 was released on Tuesday. New content includes a new Party System and additional main storyline quests.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
A new video surfaced this week that explores the changes made during the UI Update.
Foxhole
A new edition of Community Highlights has been posted.
Fractured Online
Tens of players - It was a lighthearted joke and more a commentary on the indie MMO scene as a whole than a direct attack on Fractured Online. Anyway, dozens (almost hundreds at one point) of Steam players and an unknown number of native client players (trying to be more accurate in my reporting going forward) were the benefactors of two patches (r.0.0.e and r.0.0.f)this week.
A new Guild Keys program was announced this week. The keys will give guilds a 7-day trial. Solo players are not eligible, and key use will be tracked to ensure a single player doesn’t try to use multiple keys.
Loftia
Dev Update #8 was posted to Loftia’s Kickstarter page this week. The post marks the one-year anniversary of the Kickstarter campaign and features an NPC reveal, new art, and updates to the UI.
Nightingale
A newly released video gives us an update on the current state of Nightingale.
Palia
Palia’s Summer Serenade (patch 0.182) is live. You can also earn a free Morning in Bahari Jukebox by logging in to the game before 9am ET on Tuesday, August 13th.
