Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, we celebrate three years of reporting indie MMO news. Games have come and gone, and we have been here to keep you updated. This week, Palia was acquired by Daybreak Games, Soul Kingdoms looked back at its development history, and Broken Ranks prepared for a mobile test. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Anvil Empires

The next Minor Test has been delayed again, this time to Thursday, July 18th. We will get a devblog on July 11th that will go over the new features players will see in the coming test.

BitCraft

Closed Alpha 2 will begin on July 8th. The test will be the players' first chance to try out the Empire system. The test should also have updates to previous content based on player feedback.

Ahead of the test, Clockwork Labs has introduced the Supporter Badge. The badge is priced at $20 and provides guaranteed alpha access, a unique title, and 25000 Hexite Shards.

Broken Ranks

Whitemoon Games is almost ready to begin tests for the mobile version of Broken Ranks. A recent dev post states that the test will check “how a narrow group of players reacts to every element of the game.” The test will focus on the launcher, login, character creation, and all facets of the UI.

Ember Sword

The changelog for the upcoming Closed Beta Test has been posted. The test is open to players with an Ember Sword account who have purchased Ember Sword land, have $EMBER badges, have at least 5000 EMBER tokens, or have been accepted into the Creator Program.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore

Patch 3.2.0 was deployed on Thursday. The patch includes new UI elements and new sound and visual effects.

Ilysia

A new update has been pushed to the public test realm. The launch notes contain a large number of new features, bug fixes, and several known issues the team is still working through.

Loftia

Dev Update #7 was posted to the Loftia Kickstarter page this week. Crops, cooking stations, tools, and engineering are all covered in the update.

Palia

It was a big news week for the Palia camp this week with the announcement that Singularity 6 has been acquired by Daybreak Game Company. We’ll have to wait and see what this means for Palia's future.

Prosperous Universe

Development Log #441 covers the work Michi has done fixing bugs since the release of the Realpolitik update.

The Quinfall

Players with access to the upcoming Closed Beta Test can download the client now.

Realm of the Mad God

Update 4.2.4.0 is live, and it’s Summer BBQ time in RotMG. The event will run for two weeks, allowing players to pick up food, recipes, and ingredients from various dungeons.

Soul Kingdoms

A recent video follows the development of Soul Kingdoms, starting all the way back in 2017.

Villagers & Heroes

Twilight Vale is now live with the launch of Patch 5.29 this week.
